I enjoy reading mysteries, especilaly cozy mysteries. Those are the ones with an amateur sleuth, who usually stumbles onto a mystery somehow. Does anybody have a good cozy mystery or mystery series to recommend? If you don't I am open to other suggestions also.

I've read several cozy mystery series, and I love them. Diane Mott Davidson's culinary mysteries are among my favorites, and so is the Victorian Mystery series by Victoria Thompson. I've enjoyed all of the Hannah Swenson mysteries by Joanne Fluke, and I've made a lot of her cookie recipes. They are really wonderful! Denise Swanson's Scumble River mysteries are also favorites, and an easy series to read through and enjoy without having to put much thought into it. I could also go for a man like her heroine's boyfriend, Wally! One series I had a hard time getting through was Laura Childs' tea shop mysteries. I found them a bit slow and tedious, but I read them all anyway. Now that winter is coming again, I've stockpiled a lot of books for the cold, snowy afternoons. Nothing beats curling up with a cozy mystery and a cup of cocoa. That's a bit of heaven right here on earth, I think.

I really enjoy the "Mrs. Murphy" mysteries by Rita Mae Brown. They are lightweight, but they are a good quick read-- fun and entertaining.
