First home, simple recipes

my fiance and i are planning on moving in together for the first time shortly...as i do cook anyway i would consider myself to be a good cook. but since i will be cooking and making sure i have my hubby-2-be's dinner ready for when we gets in from work i was wondering if people had any recipes to share.
we have a few cook books but i thought this would be a good way to share our recpies etc.

You probably already know what kind of foods he likes. Start off simple. Get suggestions from him. Because if you start off fancy, he will expect that and when you drop down to simple he will want to know what happened. I know you want to impress, but the time will come for that.

its not that i want to impress but i want to be a good house wife. but i want to try new things as i will have more time on my hands to cook. plus i dont want it to be ready meals all the time as they are unhealthy and expensive
