Hi, If you had the choice, would you rather go to the beach or a swimming pool? I would rather go to the beach. I used to love going down to Florida at Clearwater Beach and feel the sand in my toes and look for shells. I was born in Tampa, FL and my grandparents lived down there as I was growing up and every summer we took our vacation for 2 weeks to Florida. We would always go to Clearwater Beach. Back then the water was so clear and the sand so white. I don't know how it is now. Swimming pools are okay for kids and teens but as an older person, I would rather go to the beach. There is a much larger area to swim and if you want to you can stay from all the rug rats. Happy MyLotting, Char

Growin up closer to the mountains than the neach, my only option was a swimmin pool. When we did go to the beach I hated the sand in my swimsuit Now that I'm one of those older people you mention, I don't even own a swimsuit. Can't remember the last time I was at a pool. I know it wasn't one of the choices; but, I prefer the mountains.

I love to walk on the beach, and if I am alone or with some adult friends I will go to swim in the sea for a short time because it is difficult to swim there and some dangerous, but I prefer to swim with my kids in the pool it is more safe for them and me.

Hi my friend, Thanks for your response! I would love to walk the beach with my favorite friend or lover. It is so romantic. Back in the days when I used to go to the beach, we never seemed to worry about swimming in the ocean. It seems that it has become more dangerous in recent years. Happy Mylotting, Char

I would prefer the beach as not only is it outside but also it peaceful and you wont smell of chlorine when you come out of the water!! Also you can lay about on the sand, make sand castles and play ball games. I enjoy looking out for boats on the horizon and watching them go past and letting my imagination run wild with them!! lol

As to swimming, i will go to swimming pool. I can't stand cold water and when i plunge into the sea, i will swim for a while then come out and lay down on the warm sand. While the water of the pool is not cool, i will play for a long time in the water. As to enjoy oneself, beach is of course more interesting.

Although I love living on the coast (our beach is only 7 blocks from me) when it comes to swimming I prefer the pool in our complex. Water has always been a fear of mine since I came very close to drowning as a child. My mom literally saved my life. We were playing in the shallows of a lake we went to often when I suddenly fell into an underwater hole and couldn't touch bottom. At that time I hadn't been taught to swim yet. Mom realized what was happening and saved me. I learned to swim over the next several weeks. However, my fear of swimming in places where I can't see bottom has stuck with me. Plus, in our area we have alot of jelly fish and stingrays on the bottom. Not something I care to run into. So, I may wade in the waves as they hit shore, I do my swimming in the pool. Plus, since my complex is for adults only I don't have to worry about rugrats. LOL

Hi Tess, Thanks for your response! It must be nice to live only 7 blocks from the beach. I'm sorry to hear about your past experience with swimming. That would make be scared of swimming in deep water too. Sounds great to be ablt to swim in the complex you live with no rugrats. lol Happy MyLotting, Char

i would rather go to the beach because in my apartments the pool is always crowded with bad kids and they are always splashing water even when i have to walk past to check my mail. i would rather be on the beach where it is not as noisy and i get to have a nice quiet spot to lay down and not be splattered with water.

I would rather swim in a swimming pool because it is cleaner and I dont have to swim with frogs and fish and god only knows what else is in the murky water.

Not even a tough choice...BEACH!!! I love the beach. I have actually been to Clearwater several times. Nice beach. I love going to the beach where I can walk in the sand, snorkel and then walk a few hundred feet to my hotel room that overlooks the ocean and watch the sunset:)

I enjoy swimming pools and beaches! I tend to like the beach better. I love the sound of the waves and the seagulls. It is very relaxing! I live near the New Jersey beaches and we try to go there when we can. The only time I choose a swimming pool is on very busy weekends, like the fourth of july when I know there will be tons of people and not alot of room on the beach. Have a wonderful night!

There are times when I enjoy a swimming pool and there are times when I enjoy the beach. Usually if I want to really tan (or rather get burned cuz I'm fair skinned) I choose to go to the beach. Or if I want to bring my dog along we'll go to the dog beach. If I want to do more swimming then tanning I will usually go to the pool. There is just something about not being able to see the bottom of the water at the beach that is very unsettling to me. Not to mention the beach closest to me is New Smyrna Beach here in Florida, but it's also the shark bite capital of the world!

Hi my new friend and Welcome to MyLot!! Yes, you can really get burned at the beach in no time! I've done it. lol I wish we had a dog beach here. I have a couple of dogs that would just love that! We don't have any true beaches here where I live. I don't think I'd want to go into the water if the beach was known as the shark bite capital of the world! Happy Mylotting, Char P.S. Love your doggy in your photo!

I grew up in city and access to beach is very limited. Well if talking about swimming I would rather go to pool since its more safe but if talking about enjoying the water and the scenery well definitely the beach.

In my home country there are so beautiful beaches but the sea water is too cold to swim in. The sea is usually out a long way accept at high tide then I like to paddle but at low tide I would be scared about getting stuck in the mud. I love tropical beaches most of all for a swim in the warm ocean and snorkel around a stunning coral reef. I adore beaches with white sand and gently waving palm trees. I have been to the Seychelles and the Maldives. I found stunning beaches that were lovely for swimming in Samoa, French Polynesia and the Cook Islands. In my home country it is nice to swim in fun type indoor swimming pools with pretend palm trees but the real tropical beach is the better place for a swim in my opinion.

I like beach alot more than pool, the only challenge is dealing with the sand. Where I live we have a small private beach and docks where you can step off into the water. I used to always go to the beach, but lately I have been going to the dock and walking off into the water. I find I can stay alot cleaner and dont have to deal with sand all over my body.

If I actually want to swim, I swim in the pool at home. That way, I can wear my big, baggy t-shirt and don't have to appear in a bathing suit! If we go to the beach, I usually only paddle and sit on the sand to read.

I prefer the beach because I enjoy seeing fishes swimming just right in front of me. I also look for shells which I put on our aquarium. Also diving sites are just near and I could go to there just by riding a boat. I have never been out of my country, but if ever you have a chance to go somewhere else, try to go here in Philippines, in summer, that's around April-May. I recommend Quezon Province since it is not too crowded durin summer. But if you want a really nice place where a lot of foreigners go, try Boracay and Palawan in the Philippines it's really a nice place. :)
