The new cell phones are more complicated in their programs, its have an operating system like windows, send and receive messages, and sometimes hit by some viruses.
So, do you need an anti virus for your cell phone?
What is the best program for the anti virus?

This is an interesting queion, and I hope my husband pops in with a response to this one before too long. I hadn't thought of this before, but you ask a very intersing question, and you're right. Since cellphones now do a lot o the same things as computers, why shoudln't they need to be protected the same was as a computer needs to e proected?

Yes its worked now as a pocket pc and we must use some anti virus to protect it, I use kaspersky anti virus, and there are a lot of similar programs but don't know which is the best.
Thank you for your response and have a nice day.

well, it's all depends on what you do with your cellphones. I own a PDA and I don't really go to the internet except for downloading my work emails (which I know is safe). If you think you surf the web a lot, then you should really get an anti-virus. You know WINDOWS OS.. always infected by virus. =P

It wouldn't be a bad idea. Our magazine, "Information Week", had an article a few months ago that they're now sending out viruses for cellphones and blackberries.

well said and the done but the actual fact about mobile antiviruses are the following......." In general all the mobile phones ( be it nokia or motorola or sony ericcsion) are susceptible to being hijacked or attacked by a virus. However it all depends on the basic platform that the cell phone uses. A JAVA based platform (as in sony ericssion phones) virtually never gets hit by a virus due to its unique JAVA feature, untill unless the user forcibly installs a virus software onto it by his will. However the greater danger lies with the symbian series phones with a symbian platform(NOKIA)as they are the higly susceptible phones to be infected by a virus.
In general there are a range of antiviruses for these phones(although not many for SE phones)............. After consistent usage i felt that the FSECURE antivirus was one of the best for nokia. although one may also try norton mobile antivirus as well as that of kaspersky.
