Really when it comes down to a life or death decision on whether you save your self or help save someone else what would you do. Lets say that you car just over turned on the freeway. You, your wife, and one month old infant are trapped inside the car. You just happed to find the only way out. Your one month old infant is passed out from a blow to the head by the dash board because his mom was holding him during the accident. Your wife and the toddlers mom is also knocked out by the air bag. You are already out of the danger zone. You know the at any second the car could blow up. Just seconds before the accident you and your wife were discussing a divorce. Now would you go back into the car and trying to get them out or chance waiting till more help comes which could at the least be a couple of minutes. Now would you be brave enough to stare death in the face and go back or would you do what most people do and run away. Tell me what would you do?

I don't believe that most people would run away. I think that most people will act on instinct and try to get everyone out of the care as quickly as possible, especially the children. Things like arguments and divorce no longer matter during an emergency, I can tell you that from experience.

Not all people would run away. You are right on that aspect but then again not all people would have the courage to go back into something that almost killed them once to save someone but what if you didnt know any of the people would you go in a try to save them
