What's the best way to apply nail polish so it will last for longer time?

i prefer opi. when i apply opi nail polish it usually lasts from 1-2 weeks, which i think is a pretty good performance and strength for nail polish. i haven't really tried too many other polishes though, so i can't make too much of a comparison. as for the bumps on your nails, it could be the temperature and breeze when you apply it. i try not to put nail polish on when the air conditioner is running because it makes the formula sticky and sometimes even bubble.
