If you ran out of paper, what would you write on?

Sometimes, when I don't have paper for my grocery list,
I turn over an envelope and write on that.
And when I have an idea for Mylot, I jot it down on
my computer Word Pad.
But I would much prefer an actual piece of paper.
Not sure why. Guess it's hard to break habits.
When you want to make a note for yourself, do you
always use an actual piece of paper?
What would you use if you ran out of paper?

This always happens to me! LOL! When I cannot find any extra paper in my bag, like you, I look for an envelope. If I can't find any, I use my cellphone then I set an alarm to remind me I wrote something. It's actually very useful. Since then, I always make sure I have a small notebook in my bag for anything I need.

I learned at a very early age that small things can easily be written on small pieces of paper. When I write a throw-away thing such as a groccey list which will only be disposed of after I use i, on a piece of scrap paper, I am recycling. I am not goig o spend money on fresh paper just to use for things that I am going to throw out, anyway.

Smart and thrifty idea.
And it doesn't rely on electricity to use the computer.

Dear friend,
There were times in our place people used to write on dry leafs and store it. Some used to write on bricks may be on pots and now if I do not get papers I may use dry leafs and mostly I use word in computer. The most preferred now arenote pad or word.

These small notes you are referring too are called 'catbells' in Dutch, I think it's a very funny word for it; but that on the side.
I have this problem all the time and I will use one of my businesscards to write on, an old envelope, notepad on the pc, the back of empty cardbord boxes, my schooldiary, and basicly anything else that could pass for a piece of paper, lol! .
Sometimes it's just easier and faster to use a piece of paper, it will take you much longer to write things down on the pc and print them and it's a good thing because if we don't write anymore we get a less pretty handwriting and handwriting can tell you a lot about a person.
They actually can tell if a child has autism from handwriting and they also use it in investigations by the CIA. You can get a degree in analyzing handwriting.

I've always been fascinated with handwriting
and what it can tell you about a person.
I've done some study, but not lots.

I suppose I would use an envelope, but that is made of paper so that would mean I would have to type the message on the computer or get out my digital recorder and say the message in there. If you were talking about a notepad or a letterhead, or some scratch pads, then anything that I can write on that is made of paper will do.

Well, when I run out of paper, I would pick anything that I could write on and transfer them to their proper place later on.
It could be a napkin. Or the back of a receipt. Or even a bus ticket.
Most times, If I were at a computer, I would use either a notepad or a wordpad to type it out. Or any other word or text application that is convenient at the time.
Otherwise, if I have my PDA with me, it would be transcribed into a notepad and saved as a file till I refer to it later.

Hi beautyqueen, I always have a lot of paper around and I've never thought that I might run out. I guess paper, like many other things, will eventually be a thing of the past, as more and more people will start making notes electronically. I am sure that there are a lot of people who probably do that now. Blessings.

Have an idea in mind or taking down an important telephone number? I use my cell phone to take down some notes. But it's a bit disgusting for keying-in the letters and the characters means a life time. What if it is so important and you don't wanna miss a thing or any numbers. Worse comes to worst, and there is really nothing left, I will use my palm.

If I'm near a computer, I'll use the notepad application.
If not, I have the bad habit of writing on my arm.
Though I don't see anything wrong with it, personally.

I rarely do not have a piece of paper nearby unless I am in the car. (I just bought 30 notebooks at Walmart last week.)I really should have a little notepad in the car. If I do not have paper handy then I will write on the back of an envelope or even on a napkin or paper towel.

I have lots of receipts crammed in my bag. Sometimes I just forget to throw them away. If there's a number or something important I need to take note, I would write it on the back of the receipt if I run out of paper. If I couldn't store it on my cellphone's Drafts folder, it'd be on the back of the receipt.

Hehe. Sometimes I don't feel like throwing them away yet. Maybe it's the OC syndrome kicking in. I'm just used to cramming it all in my bag. Heck, I even made my grocery list out of old receipts.

I also write on the backs of envelopes sometimes! I really don't care for actual paper, I'll use post-it notes and sometimes even napkins, even napkins but those are a little more difficult to write on! Usually I try to find anything I can write on when I think of something because not only do I know I'll forget it, but I'll get mad at myself because I can't remember!
