We really don't hear a lot about this day because it is not about giving gifts, so there is no commercialism involved, that is retailers are not going to hype it up! Today is just about giving up some time to spend with your parents!!!!
If you don't live close by, please give them a call! I know they would appreciate it. Both my parents have passed away, along with my in-laws, so please try to enjoy this day while you still can.
When : Fourth Sunday in July
National Parents Day is a special day to honor your mother and father. And, its a time to celebrate the family structure and family values. The family unit is an important structure for the health of children, and the nation. That structure, and those values, are established and nurtured by your parents.
Today is not a day of gift giving. That's for Mother's Day and Father's Day. The best way to mark this day is by spending time with your parents doing something fun. Its also important that you let them how how much they are loved and appreciated.
Okay, kids everywhere....... its National Parents Day. Go out and honor mom and dad!
In 1994, President William Clinton proclaimed the fourth Sunday in July as National Parents Day.

Thaknks Deea48! We actually had a wonderful day. Bob went out crabbing early and then his former boss, his wife, and their son came over to enjoy them! Very relaxing day.
I guess us little people have to be the ones to get the word out!
