What all things do you think are needed to know before you go to a bargain shop? What are the basics that need to be known so that you dont end up paying higher price for a product?

I like to compare prices, so if im looking for a particular item, ill look for it in about 5 different stores then see which one is the best quality. and which has the best value. Ive saved a lot of money by doing this :)

i think your method is nice but people like me who dont have so much of patience can not roam to so many shops. I have time constrained also, so it makes it little inconvinient also. Anyways i can compare the same with my friends incase they have got the same thing.

When I have to shop for something especially if it is a higher priced item, I use the computer to shop around for price, I also look at what the product warrenty is and how the store handles returns, I don't get it with the pricing of items, One store can sell it for a dollar and you know they are making some profit off it or they wouldn't be selling it for that, and others have the same thing for $3. so to me it is each store trying to make higher profits off of us, so shopping around gives me the chance to see who list the price within reason and who is just trying to get rich off me.

Thats a fantastic idea. i think internet could be the best option to find the correct price. But still i think there are a few items which can not be judged on net and are customized. So the price can differ and finding the right price could be difficult. Anyways half of the problem solved.

I mostly get online and see what stores are having the best sales and see if I can get any discount cupons or anything online. You also have to learn to wait and be paitent for your favorite items to go on sale.
