I used to have a bicycle since 4 years ago. But due to the traffic on the road is way too heavy, it's quite dangerous to ride a bike in my area. Therefore, it had been neglected for years. I don't even know where I keep the key to unlock the bike. Ever since the petrol price increased dramatically since early June this year (2008), I do more walking than driving my car. One morning, after having breakfast in the coffee shop nearby, I walked my way home and saw my poor bicycle parked inside the shaded motor park. I decided to try with one of the key to unlock the padlock. Surprisingly it works! I am elated and decided to shove it all the way to the bicycle shop 2 kilometers away to fix it. Now it's in working condition!

That's right, and I really hope that everyone will do the same. More cycling should be encouraged to reduce air pollution and global warming. Our earth is sick now and human race should take action to save it, before it is too late. Due to global warming effect, the world climate pattern is changing. That's why we are seeing more violent and powerful storms and whirlwind.

There are more and more green products emerging in the market. But that's not enough yet and there's still a long long way to go. Unfortunately, I observed people around us are still having very low level of awareness. Some of them totally have no sense of environmental preservation. If all these is not going to change, then the Earth is hopeless. Our state government is having a plan to plant 1 millions within 5 years time. Hope it will be realized then!

It's the same here. Due to the current government incapability in managing the economy, they cancel the petrol subsidy to cover their corruption deficiency. Therefore, the fuel price keep on increasing and subsequently contribute to high inflation rate nationwide. This impact the life of all the people especially those from lower income group. It's quite a pitiful, because everybody need to lead a more thrifty life.

Hello dear cheongyc. Glad to know that you have finally got the right key to the bike standing for four years long without being touched. Now you can save more money on oil and do more exercise by riding to your office or anywhere. What is the most important is that it is environmentally-friendly to the earth. I have a bike of my own, which is five years old, but it still works perfectly. I have two iron baskets tied to the bike, one of which is in the front and the other next to the right side of the back.

That's true. I was still elated about finding back the key I lost for few years. It's amazing isn't it? Now I can do some exercise by cycling up and down in the multi-layer car park. Besides, I can cycle to buy groceries from the hyper market a stone's throw away from my house. But unfortunately, due to the heavy traffic condition on the main road and highway, it's still risky for me to cycle to work in the office 15km from my apartment. But by cycling in the vicinity, I think I had saved some fuel cost and to be more environmental friendly. I hope the new state government is able to realize the subway in near future, so that I could use this alternate commutation to go to work.

I am really glad that I finally got my bike fixed. But unfortunately, the traffic in my area (urban area) is heavy. Besides, the car, truck and motorbike driver is very rude and always driving recklessly. So, these will pose threat to the pedestrians and cyclists. Therefore, people seldom walk or cycle due to such potential risk on the road. But I will try my best to cycle when the traffic is not heavy. It usually is on weekend, or at dawn of other days. Thanks for your response twallace!
