Have u noticed that whenever u buy a thing from a shop there are a lots of line drawn on its pack and some numbers written under the lines .can anyone tell me what are those lines and numbers

they call it BAR CODES. this is the code that the cashier use to make sure the real price of that item. the code is saved on the pc so when they swip the product before you pay the price will appear at the computer. it is for easier access of the product you are buying. sometimes people put a product on the sale rack even it is not really ON SALE. so with the use of bar codes it is easy to know and to see what is the price of the item and if it is on sale.

As far as I know, that are used in identifying the particular item at the billing counter, if there are any other purposes, I don't know....
