It is true that since brown sugar has not been completely refined it still maintains some nutrients, unlike white sugar which has only a sweet taste, but no nutrients.
Even so, brown sugar should be consumed only in small portions, as it is not the best source of nutrition.

Have you tried using real maple syrup, honey, or molasses as sweeteners? They all have much higher nutritional value than brown sugar.
