I hate using fork or knife to have egg-bread or pizza. I have to use my hands otherwise i feel as if am doing some kind of an operation. As far as having rice or soup or whatever, i like to use a spoon/fork. What about you, what do you use to have food?

It depends, mostly. If it is something dry, I will use my fingers, even with rice. If it is something with some sort of sauce, I will pick at it here and there with my fingers, and use my fork other times. And, when it is something like soup, I either use my spoon, or I put it in a cup and drink it, or I sip it out of the bowl when it cools down a little. I am a bit flexible when it comes to eating food.

But mostly i prefer hands...
Wash your hands before and after you eat...

Most times i seem to eat more finger friendly food . I use a fork , and a knief only when I have to . Some meats like steak you need to have a steak knief .
Spoons for ice cream of course, cereal , and my coffee , and tea

Hi karjyo, when having meal at home I use a spoon only. The 3 meals we usually take at home are mostly rice and vegetable, so a single spoon is just enough for me. I use both the fork and spoon when taking fish, for it’s much more convenient to take care of the bones. I would like to eat noodle with a pair of chopsticks, for spoon and fork couldn’t serve their purpose well when come to take these long strip stuffs.
While taking food outside, like in the restaurants, food courts or street stalls I feel happy to use whatever tableware that supplied together with the food served. I would like to ask for what I need, if I find it is really inconvenient to use the one given.
I enjoy eating with my hand as well when visiting some of the local Indian restaurants here, where the delicious food is served on a big banana leaf instead of a plate.
posting and Merry Christmas!

I guess it depends on where I am and what food I am eating. If I am somewhere formal then I try to avoid eating with my hands. I use the spoon, fork or knife. If I am in somewhere casual and I am eating pizza or finger foods then I use my hands. If I am in a Chinese or Japanese restaurant, then I use the chopsticks

If I can use my hands then I use my hands! I am not one for a knife and fork unless I have too. Unless of course I am eating something really messy and I have no choice. I tend to eat sandwiches a lot anyway so half the time I dont need any cutlery.

Hey,there.I also use spood and hands sometimes but usually I just use chopsticks to have meal. But if I want some soup,of course I will use spoon. When do I use my hands?Haha,I only use my hands to eat when I eat fast food and puffing food like McDonald and Lays.
P.S. In my country(China),you know, people all use chopsticks and chopsticks are also be used in Japan and some other asian countries. But to our surprise,Korean people don't use chopstick usually, they just use spoon to eat and they use chopsticks only when they eat noodles.

Most of the time, I eat rice with the use of a spoon; at home or outside the house. During weekdays when I do have to go to the workplace, I eat rice and viand for breakfast using a spoon. I also bring along with me 'baon' consisting of rice and viand which I eat during lunch time in the company premises using a spoon.
There are times when I do eat rice with my bare hands specially during certain occasions with the family and when the foods served are more easily eaten using the hands, like pizza, as you mentioned.
For instance, if we have an occasion which we have to celebrate by the seaside, we would usually have fishes, shrimps, and crabs. Normally, these are 'hand-foods', if you know what I mean.
Sometimes at home, my husband and I do eat with our hands because we feel that the food is tastier this way. Other locals also feel this way but I guess this is quite psychological.
If I'm not mistaken, there was one instance where I ate with my hands in the office. It was a couple of years ago when we had our company's anniversary celebration and we had a 'boodle' fight. But it's very rare that we eat with fork and knife at the same time while eating.

i usually use chopsticks for most of my meals. bread and pizza will be using my hands. only food like spaghetti and slabs of meat will see me wielding fork and knife. also, if my rice is served on a plate, i'll use a fork and spoon.
let you in on one little secret - i use chopsticks to eat spaghetti if i'm at home.

most of the times i eat with chopsticks. for pizza and bread i'll use my hands. certain things like pasta are eaten with fork and spoon. i don't have any particular preference about utensils. i'll just use whatever is available to me. more important is that it's not those disposable type. cheers ;p

I've seen some use knife and fork to eat pizza,i have nothing against though. For me it depends on the food i'll be eating. Now if it is fried chicken, spring rolls, pizza, donuts, canape--basically any food hand picked,of course i eat it using my hand.Spaghetti, noodles, salads i use fork. And definitely spoon for soups and rice.
Did you know that Filipinos would love to eat using their hand?I missed that one also.Of course we wash our hand before eating

The only time i used a knife and for for pizza is when i am out and the slice is super hot and i don't want to make an idiot of myself trying to hold it with my hands and doing some sort of juggling routine lol... other than that i agree feels like some sort of operation being done to the food! As soon as it cools down enough to hold the knife and fork get chucked =P
As for soup the only time i DIDN'T use a spoon was when i went to Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament lol there you don't HAVE the option of using utensils =P. I quickly got discouraged and didn't touch the soup... who knows if they even wash the bowls properly!!
But yeah in general fast foods like sandwiches, pizza, fries and so on no utensils, but other foods yup.
