I like to read a lot but lately I've been into realistic novels like The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky and A Million Little Pieces by James Frey. Do you like these books? What kinds of books do you like?

At the moment I am reading 6 books. I like to read science fiction and novels. I'm not a big fan of mystery or romance novels, especially the naked kind. I don't want to read about someone else being naked. If I'm interested in being naked, I'll go find someone to be naked with. I don't need to voyeur into someone else's life. Even if it is made up. I'm reading a lot of different kinds of books for my library summer reading contest. So I am getting exposure to new people.

Wow! 6 books at once--that's crazy/awesome! I can only read one at a time but I usually read them very quickly. I think your comment is really interesting, seeing as one of the reasons I love reading because I escape to someone else's life. Thankd for your input! :)

I am into paranormal romances, and well anything with vampire, witches, shape changers, and the like. I just finished Twilight and New Moon and am dying to get my hands on the third in that series. I also just finished Dyrgon Witch and i am currently reading The Vampire's Kiss.

I don't know of the books that you mentioned but I will try to check them out.
I like to read 'scary' books with things like vampires, witches and the like.
I also like to read mystery books, and lots of others. I am not much on books that are non fiction, however I like to read those types of things in magazines.

You know, I do like books dealing with vampires and witches--I think they're cool but I can't deal with horror, if that even makes any sense lol Like, if they have to do with romance or something, then I'm totally in! I just started reading memoirs because I like reading about a real person's life. You should definitely check out The Perks and A Million Little Pieces though, they're really great, practically life-changing.

I will try to get my hands on the book you mentioned. As for the Lestat Series, I think you will love them since you like the romance part. The vampires in this series still love and sometimes wish they could be human again.
I don't want to ruin it for you and tell you more. I hope you get a chance to read them.
Have a good night !

I like the outlandish, ridiculous fantasies (Tolkien, MacHale, Paolini). Realistic books, are bound by what's realistic, so I think they tend to lack creativity.

I respect that, it makes sense. For me, I think I'm just trying to get a sense of what other people in the world are dealing with. Thanks for your input!

I read a wide variety of stuff. Currently, I am reading "Claws and Effect" by Rita Mae Brown (a cozy) and "All Things Censored" by Mumia Abu-Jamal.

I have never heard of either of those books before or the authors. The types of books I like to read are the chick lit novels, mysteries, suspense, and sometimes horror. It varies depending on my mood. Right now I'm reading a semi-chick lit semi autobiography by Jen Lancaster called Bitter Is the New Black. It's really funny and I would recommend it to anyone!

I think of myself as a bookworm that would read almost any reading material, Although my latest obsession is PNR (paranormal) novels. I consider it my guilty pleasure to indulge in steamy, sexy romance novels with a slice of fantasy, may it be vampires, fae, werewolves or demons.
Although I have plenty of favorites with the genre, at the moment, my top of the list would be JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood. Those vampires are just simply HOT..!

I've heard Wicked the book is much better than the actual musical so it's on my list! I was always intimidated by the size of Harry Potter books but I do enjoy the movies! Thanks for your input :)

I've hard of A Million Little Pieces thanks to the Oprah uproar, but not the other book.
I mostly prefer thrillers - usually detective type stuff, although sometimes supernatural thrillers. My favorite author is John Saul, who is a lot like Stephen King (whose novels I don't care for) and Dean Koontz (who I also enjoy).
I also like fantasies. I adored the Harry Potter series and recommend them to anyone. I really liked the Chronicles of Narnia as well. I'm currently reading the sequel to A Great and Terrible Beauty, Rebel Angels, by Libba Bray, and I absolutely love it.
I'd also recommend Steve Berry. His books tend to take history and blend them in with mystery, so they're not only entertaining, but educational as well.

Oh yes, the Oprah scandal! To be honest, I still think it's a great story, regardless of whether or not it's true. Steve Berry sounds cool too, thanks for your input!
