how old were you when you had your first serious relationship

I think that my first serious relationship is now with my fiance. I know a lot of people have different views on what "serious" really is, but I think that for me the definition is as follows : A serious relationship entails love and devotion that has a very good likelihood of blooming into a marriage. Our relationship is not only serious because we are going to be getting married but also because we love one another and felt as if we've found our missing piece. I appreciate the discussion, this should be a very nice discussion!

i think it was 14 or 15 when i first had me serious relationship ship... The only reason why i dated this guy was to go to prom...

I suppose that depends on what you define as a serious relationship. I had my first "steady" in 9th grade. He was on the basketball and football team (mostly as a bench warmer), so I got to wear his letter sweater. We went to every dance together in 9th grade. But when he asked if he could kiss me, I told him no. (I hated that he asked!) The last 2 weeks of school, he was suddenly going steady with a new girl. They married after college and have been happily married for over 25 years. Times have changed, haven't they? We went almost an entire year - in 9th grade! - before he even thought about kissing me. Don't think that would happen today.

I had my first serious relationship in high school. I dated a boy during 9th grade for a few months. It didn't work out so we broke up (it was so simple back then...). We hung around the same group of people and dated again at the end of my sophomore year (he was a couple years older and was graduating). We stayed together for over two years with most of it being long distance since he was in college. We had our ups and downs and breakups and reunions... We married the day after I graduated from college. Unfortunately, our story did not end up happy. We divorced after a few years. Way too young to get married (I was 21 and he was 23). By the time we decided to get divorced, both of us had changed so much and wanted different things out of life. We are both remarried now to different people but keep in contact a few times per year and I still consider him a top-notch human being and friend. We just weren't meant to be together forever.

Well my real first serious relationship was when I was 16 years old and we met while standing in my friends 15 year old party and found out we went to the same school but with a one year old difference and thats when the drama started. We loved each other so much but even that didnt stop the drama, I think everyone knows how little high school relationships are: "Impossable" cuz u have the rumors and other guys talking mess, but even so we managed to last untill i got out of college we had never not once broke up untill I caught her slippin, yup with some guy. We lasted 5 in half years. The End

at that time i never thought it would be so damn serious...way back in 1990 when i was just around 13, i met a girl who just kindled a flame in my heart right away. i fell in love and i knew it was love coz i had never ever felt like that before. i enjoyed her company and loved talking to her. we became good friends but it took me a while (actually more than a year) to actually gather my guts and propose to her.. i'm glad i did that coz i couldnt just keep it to myself any longer and seriously wanted to know what she felt about me. today we are happily married (6 yrs now) and parents of two sweet kids...now this was my FIRST AND ONLY SERIOUS RELATIONSHIP !!! :)

All of my relationships were serious!! LOL..I remember when I was in first grade, I had a crush on this boy in my class named Brian..Wow...that takes me back a few years. :) I had crushes on different boys all throughout my school years. When I got in High School, I dated one certain guy and we even dated after we graduated. I guess you could say he was my first "serious" relationship. But, he had his goals in life and I had mine. Quite a few years went by but we are in touch again. We are both married to someone else, though. I am very happy now with my husband but I think a part of me will always wonder "what if?"

i was 16. it lasted for 3 and a half years. things came up we had to make some tough decisions, and we ended up breaking up. the good thing about is we still keep in touch. now i think that we are both with the love of our lives.

The first serious relationship that I had was when I was 15. It lasted nearly 2 years and we planned to spend the rest of our life together and I spent every weekend at his and went to his about three/four times during the week. It had to come to an end though when he started getting controlling and making me feel guilty for seeing my friends and such and assuming that when I was not with him or on the phone to him, it was because I was cheating on him. I knew I could not tolerate this for the rest of my life.

My first serious relationship happened when I was 19 years old. I was in third year college then. It was a serious relationship but a roller coaster one. I fell inlove with my bestfriend. And, I was the one who confessed first. Later on, I found out that the feeling was mutual. So, we ended up being lovers. It's not an easy one. Falling inlove with your bestfriend has so many risks to take. What if the relationship didn't work out? You'll lose your lover and worst, your bestfriend. We had so many break ups and it seemed that we're not really meant to be for each other. But, we are! Coz i am now married with him and with kid already. I never had any relationships other than him when we became lovers. I guess, the hard times and trials we had when we were just boyfriend and girlfriend made our relationship stronger.

I have my first serious relation ship when i was 24. I suddenly know what love is in a way and i found more happiness in my life.

Middle School.

I had my first serious relationship in high school. Like most probably do, I thought I would end up marrying her. Then, things change. Such is life.

I was 17 and it lasted two years.

good day.. My first and consequently serious relationship I had was when I on college, Junior year. I loved her and I was serious but sad to say we didn't saw it through.

hmmm i was in my sophomore years when i had my first serious relationship which lasted like 3 months i think..then my 2nd serious relationship started when i was in college. during my high school year i wasn't really looking nor searching. i know he will just come and i would know when that person is the right one for me. luckily i met on my 1st year in college since then we were inseparable until now, its been 7 years already. I made promise to myself the next relationship i will get into or the next time i will give my heart to must be the right person... it's hard to pick up the pieces again when it's broken =) you will too soon just enjoy your single life... love yourself first then that's the time you will be able to love someone unconditionally. he will find you, just wait for the right time and right place =)

I had my first real relationship when i was 21 and ended it when i was 26... now i am in a very stable relationship for the past two yrs!

omy :-) this is bringing up verry nice memorys :-) my first real love was when i had 13 years her name was isabelle :-) she had also 13 years we where in the same class what was really nice because we saw eachother like every day as much as possible :-) we really loved eachother like no one could love another if u know what i mean :-) , if there would be a heaven it was what we had pure heaven till the point that a stupid man made an end to this sweetness ...... but as i say , it was isabelle who was my first real love ..... yours trully chrisone
