Our team had a team building and in this park that we visited has an outdoor wallclimbing spot.So all my officemates tried to go up and I was the one left at the bench bec. I am so afraid to climb the wall. They told me that I should overcome my fear of heights..Probably I can go up without looking down but if it's time to go down..I might pee on my shorts before I can go down.lol..
I am actually a risk taker type of person but when my ex-husband did something bad when we were in an escalator. The handle of the escalator,or whatever-you-call-it..is about my waist only..I am just 5'1 in height. My ex-hubband made fun of me by pushing me on the side of the escalator and would you believe we were already on the 4th floor and it was really high...that's when I started to had a fear of heights.
Oh how I'd love to try this wallclimbing...hoping to overcome my fear of heights.Happy mylotting.;p

Oh pinks my friend. I really do hope that you would overcome your fears. And I do hope I would overcome my fear of heights too. I am afraid of tall buildings, bridges, everything that pertains to heights. Good luck to both of us. Happy Postings. HUGZ!

You are right goodluck to us.As much as I want to try..I might pee on my pants if I'll try it.lol.Well someday..I know 34years old is not that old yet and esp. for my character who is so outgoing and like a tadpole (kitikiti ;p) I think I will have the courage soon to try at least wallclimbing or looking down a building from the rooftop.Have a nice day.;p

Yes and no. I am not afraid to climb or be high up. My fear is going from one "safe" location to another when I am up high.
Going from a ladder to a roof or vise versa. Stepping onto an escalator to go down when I am up at teh top. Getting into or out of an elevator. So, I avoid thes when possible and force myself to do them when I cannot avoid them.

I am not afraid of heights, as long as I am fensed in up there. I would not be the one who cleans the windows on the outside of the CN tower, harness or no harness. I will, however, enjoy the view from inside, and I woudl't even complain if someone opened the window. LOL I also absoluely loe flying.

i thought it would be nice to experience wall-climbing. i am not that afraid of heights, i guess i can call myself, 50/50 when it comes to heights. i can go to some sort of altitude but i guess not that so high as the 24-story building. i guess you too should try it so you can at least minimize your fear to heights.

I thought so too.Well when neil finally reached the top I was actually pushed by friends to try it and that it is safe bec. there's a harness..harness or no harness that moment I made face to them declining the offer. What the heck..I am really scared and I don't wanna try it.They even tried crossing the lake hanging using the harness as well (it in La Mesa Ecopark). They told me that I missed all the fun..I guess they're right. :c Well soon I'll try..Thanks for the post my friend.;p

Have a fear of heights is not uncommon. The logic behind it is because when you are way up above normal grounds, you will worry that something bad might happen and you will fall which makes you feel very uncomfortable. In addition, your height also contributes to the factor that size might also be an issue here. To overcome your fear of height, you have to conquer it directly. Have an adviser beside you should help to calm you down when panicking starts. Good luck.

I'm afraid of height since young. I won't dare to try anything that it high. Actually I tried once going on a cable car in Hong Kong years ago and I ended up holding tight to a post in the center and sweat all the way till my t-shir is half wet. Very embrassing.

I used to be afraid of heights until I trained to become a paramedic rescuer. Aside from the standard training on emergency care, I had trainings on rappeling and rope rescue. There is no choice so I have to undergo such training to pass. Until I was able to rappel from helicopter, its was very fearful at first until I was able to get the hang of it.

I've never been afraid of heights, but I'm not sure about the wall climbing thing. Although...I have seen them at fairs and there they did have heavy straps on everyone, just in case their feet did slip. I would think that was safe. The ones I've seen on TV that were indoor wall climbing things seemed to have the bouncy kind of floor that you see on gymnastic floors or for wrestlers.

Hi Pinks,
I do not like heights either!
At my age and condition, I wouldn't be able to climb the wall anyway, but I don't think I'd want to do it even at your age. When I was in high school, and we went to basketball games in the gym, all my friends wanted to climb way up to the top bleacher to sit and watch the game. Whenever I went to a game, I prayed they wouldn't want to sit up there. A few times I did, but those times I never enjoyed the game because I was so afraid the bleachers would collapse and down I'd fall.
I think I'll stay on the ground, thank you very much!
Happy MyLotting,
Char

Hi Char ;p
Before I am such a risk taker person.I am not scared of heights. If I ride a rollercoaster I'll make sure that I'll be seated on the first row.I am not a scaredy-cat but hmp..no time to blame my ex-husband..I should start overcoming my fears.
I guess I am also concern of the accident.Like you I'd rather stay on the ground and watch instead of risking myself for possible accident. That's why they call it accident, bec.you don't have any idea when it will happen and besides probably bec. of my age..I am old already (34y/o)and hmmm I might suffer heart attack from fear.lol.
Thanks for the post.;p
