Hot! Hot! Hot!

About four or five years ago, the garden I had went crazy producing little red chili peppers, jalapenos, and habanero peppers. I thought I'd freeze them. When I bought my new house, I moved the frozen peppers with me. Today, I was making a garlic/onion broth and I decided to toss in a habanero whole. Nice and spicy. But then I did the inevitable (because I'm a guy and I'm prone to do dumb stuff without thinking), and bit the stem off the habanero and ate the pepper. After 20 minutes my mouth quit burning. But my tongue still feels like it got sunburned and had a layer peel off. Yikes! Did you know that hot peppers are still potent after being frozen - even after a few years?

Honey I don't think things are supposed to be used when having been frozen for so long. Do you really think after 5 years you should still eat them? I would be careful! xoxoxoxoxo

LMAO That's funny... I'm sorry I shouldn't laugh but you have no idea how many "macho" men I've seen do the exact same thing and I know exactly what the reaction is. Yes, peppers are still hot after being frozen :) Just so you know, when you cut up peppers even after you wash your hands DON'T RUB YOUR EYES. They will burn b/c the pepper juice soaks into the skin on your hands and even washing them can't get it all out. A friend of mine I used to know sent me seeds for peppers from Peru and Brazil...they actually have a warning label on them. I can't wait to grow them. I don't eat them but Hubby loves them. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Lol. Did you think the freezer would cool off the peppers? Your post is so funny. Right now I have about 20 Chilli pepper plants in my garden and 1 jalapeno plant. I test them by just cutting of a little piece and barely touching it with my tongue. My jalapeno peppers should be arrested. They are blazing. My chilli peppers haven't turned red yet, so they aren't very hot. To the best of my knowledge, peppers never loose their potency. I guess you know that now. Thanks for the post. I really enjoyed it.
