When you see a penny on the ground weather it be heads or tails.
Do you pick it up? if yes, What do you do with them?
Whenever I see a penny on the ground I usually pick it up.
I was walking by the new paper stands and there was all these pennys laying on the ground and so i picked them all up and become 23 cents richer! I have one of those big coffee cans and I save up all my pennys and other change that i find or have left over and after a while i go and cash them in and i usually get around $40-100!

No, if I see a 5p or something bigger then I will pick it up, but I do not bother about 1p and 2p pieces.
Also I have a question, seeing as you are American and have cents, where us Brits have pence's, why do you call them pennies? Obviously pennies come from pence in an obvious way, but how doe you get pennies from the word cents?

I pick up every bit of change I see, including the pennies. Usually they are bright and shiny, just asking to be picked up. There is no telling how many people passed over that penny thinking it wasn't worth picking up. I figure it is one more penny close to a fortune. I pick it up and throw it in my purse. I may clean out my purse and put it in a savings jar, or it might just go in my billfold to use when I need a little bit of change. A penny spends as good as a dime, I say.

I always pick up pennies. The main reason is beacuase of four words on it, "IN GOD WE TRUST." If I trust in God, which I do, then that is a nice reminder of how awesome he is and who am I to not pick it up if it is there for me to do so. Secondly, because I trust in God and pick them up, I am a penny richer every time I do so. Every penny counts these days.

Great question! I always used to pick up pennies. Now I only
sometimes do. But after reading about all the people who
still pick them up and put them in their jars I'm going
penny hunting starting tomorrow. My little piggy is empty.
I cashed in all my jars, all my piggys and now it's time
to fill them up again. No more looking at those pennies
on the ground. Just because it's a little harder to bend
doesn't mean I should let them stay there! Thank you
myloters for reminding me about wasting money! It won't
happen again!

Whenever I see a penny on the ground I always pick it up. Remember "find a penny pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck!" Once I pick up my pennies I put them aside into a piggy bank and after a couple months or so I'll count all the change and then take it to the bank! Hey, a penny is a penny in my opinion! You should never leave one behind!

my mom told me not to use those money i pick up on the road because it's not mine. i usually find some coins and sometimes, little amount on paper. what i do is that i pick them up and put them in donation boxes... usually about saving a child's life in africa, etc.
i am not sure though if i get to pick up a thousand bucks... i might be tempted to use it for myself.

I always pick up pennies when I see them.I save them in my special Penny bank. Its a huge Heineken bottle with the opening just big enough for a penny to get in.I have the bottle half full now and Im guessing thats about $20 worth of pennies in there.I am saving it till its full and then I will break it and cash in and buy something I really want with my penny savings, lol.

If I see one I'll tell my kids, they love to find money and pick it up. The best place I've ever found money is at the car wash. People will get their quarters out and put them near the slot to keep the car wash going. Sometimes they leave them there and forget about them. Also, at the vacum of a car wash. People will leave money there. Cool that you found some pennies.

I always pick up change when I see it. Then I take it home and put it in a jar that I have full of loose change. Like Ben Franklin would have said " A penny saved is a penny earned."

Back when my son was a teen, he explained to me that his peers think that pennies are useless, so they throw them away. Not me. If I find a penny or two or six on the ground, I pick it/them up. I usually put all of my change in a jar and it's surprising how quickly it adds up.

I used to have a friend that would throw his change too. So I would always take it from him! and one time i showed him just how much it all adds up too and he stopped throwing it away. lol it really does all add up! sometimes it might take a while depending on how often you find or add to it but it still adds up.

Hello sameroad,
Well! I thought that I was the only one that pick up pennies, I am surprised because I'm always picking up pennies and I have a big offfice water bottle where I put all my pennies and another jar for my silver and sometimes I just put couple of notes in there and forget about it, its like my little bank, I keep it hidden away so I won't see it thats I call it my little bank.

See a penny, pick it up
and all the day you'll have good luck
see a penny and let lay
bad luck you will have all day.
You're supposed to pick them up or you'll have bad days forever!

I always pick up change. It all adds up. I put it in my change jar at home and save it up. This year I cashed in about $90 in loose change and we used it when we went on vacation this last spring. If me or my husband has any loose change we just throw it in the jar and don't worry about it until we go to cash it in. Occassionally I will dip in there if I need quarters to go wash the car but not too often. I can take my change to the bank and the have a coin counter and do not charge me to do this and the amount is usually a nice surprise. It can really add up in a years time.

I used to keep those "pennies from heaven" and other change I found in a separate jar and found that in a year I got quite a bit! Many people won't pick up those coins, figuring they won't add up to much so why bother. I enjoy the windfall!

Oh Yeah, I will pick up all change I find on the ground, even pennies. Sometimes people say only pick it up if it is showing heads, I do not care whether it is heads or tails, if it is lying there I will pick it up.
I have a large coffe canister that I use to hold my loose change. Right now I have $100.00 worth, I counted it the other day.
I will take it to the bank and use the change machine when I think I have reached about two hundred dollars. I once save over one thousand in loose change.

I always pick up change I find on the ground. Pennies add up! Sometimes if I see them, I will show my 4 year old, he gets so excited about money! He picks it up and yells I'm rich! So cute.

I pick it up and put it in my pocket. From there it, along with the rest of my change, gets handed over to my wife who puts it all in a coffee can until she has enough to take to the grocery store and use the coin exchanging machine. It all adds up
