People are always complaining that I have too many pets. I have a dog, three cats and a bunny. I am always catching h*ll from people about my pets. I keep my house clean...I keep everyone clean and fed...what's the big deal?

That doesn't seem like a lot of pets to me. DFo you live in a small place? Why do people say you have too many? We have 2 cats, 2 fish tanks, and 4 birds (3 are ours, 1 is a baby we are trying to sell). My son is hoping to get a bearded dragon. We have a decent sized place though.

I have a huge 4 bedroom house! There is no reason for them to complain! I clean up after everyone. I have five kids too....it seems like my in-laws are the one's complaining.

My roomie and I have a *lot* of animals (we do a lot of rescues and rehabilitating so at PRESENT we have *ahem* 2 dogs, 3 sugar gliders, 1 gerbil, 1 tortoise, 1 turtle, 2 frogs, 10 hermit crabs, 2 parrots, 1 parakeet, 1 sparrow, 1 finch, 1 canary, several fish, and even 1 pygmy goat kid!) and amazingly we keep things pretty under control. But that doesn't stop people from butting in. We were going to hang THIS little poem up right near out door... This is our house these are our pets this is their home we love them the best so if you should find our pets a peeve then by all means feel free to leave!

Wow you have lots of love at your house. Speaking of peeve. I hear their was a man who named his dog "Peeve" and would introduce him as his pet Peeve!

Hello thayes. I also have many pets. I have five dogs, four cats, three birds and three fishes. The reason why there are people who have many pets because they are animal lovers. There is nothing wrong with people wanting many pets. I love my pets.

Your pets are your business and no one elses!! You only have four and I have about ten times that many - 5 dogs, 8 cats in the house and about 15 at the barn, two rabbits, a duck and goose, and 20 horses. People do complain about the animals that are in my house and I just tell them that these are MY animals in MY house and if they don't like it, they don't have to come by. As long as you can care for them, I don't see why you can't have as many as you want.

My pet - My cat Scoots
I think that if you love pets, you have your own place, the pets are not interfering with anyone else, you keep your place clean, it doesn't matter what other people say. I think that people who own pets are loving, compassionate and caring people. It is no big deal. Keep your pets and stay happy.

My mother-in-law told me my kids would die if I had pets in my home....what kind of mess is that?

I don't think that there is any hard and fast rule about how many pets is too many pets. As long as you can take care of them and give them attention, I think you are doing fine. It's a lot like saying somebody has too many kids. For some people, a dozen kids would not be enough while for other people one is one too many. I think you should just try to ignore the comments.

I don't think you have too many pets unless they are not well cared for and you cannot afford them (and this includes vet bills). I've seen rescuers with over 60 animals that are all in good health. Granted, they have volunteers coming in to help them. For me, 20 is the limit if I'm only working part time and if I'm working full time I try to keep it down to only 10 pets. Beyond that, I generally would run into vet bills I could not afford. Currently, I have 2 house rabbits, 2 foster guinea pigs, and 3 zebra finches.

It is a personal choice. Maybe just not one most people would make for themselves. As long as everything is clean, I don't see a problem. One of my relatives has 3 cats. And things are not clean. So again, each person makes choices. Try not to let others in judgement get to you.

my dog - saber
I don't think that is a lot of pets. I only have one dog but my old next door neighbor at my old house. They had 5 dogs, 2 cats and a bird! I loved all their pets though. I thought they were fun to play with I think people can have as many pets as they want. (as long as they can take care of them like they should) but i do think some people can over do it sometimes but i don't think 5 pets is all that much. Who care what others think! as long as you love them and take care of them. then i don't see the problem. someone people just aren't that crazy about pets and having them and thats too bad.
