Does anyone here play RuneScape? I have been playing on and off for about 4-5 years. Despite a lot of people's unreasonable hatred of the game, I enjoy it for the most part, and especially like the fact that it can run on older computers (except for the new HD mode). I have a few different accounts, which of course, do not interact with each other in any way (as per the rules), but which I use for different things. My main account, Rayne227, I am not using right now because I used to be a member, so my bank is full. I'm saving this one for when I can become a member again. I am currently playing Rainer Und, which I am specializing for PvP combat. If you respond positively to this discussion, and perhaps are interested in joining my PvP clan (must be trained or training as a pure), please, add Rainer Und to your friends list! For this discussion, let's talk about the game in general: Likes, dislikes, favorite things to do, etc. And if you don't like it, explain (nicely) why not!

Same here. I've been on and off runescape for a long time too. Kept getting scammed and then annoyed at the game and stopping playing. Then like once in a blue moon I got back into it. Anywayz now I'm like fully broke on being scammed for like 10 mil by a dumb friend who borrowed my cash to buy something and got it all scammed sigh. So yeh i stopped playing for nearly a year and just started again. Now i got only 400k im broke. Anywayz....

Hmm, I guess you could say I have a love-hate relationship with the game. There's a part of me that enjoys the game--I like some of the PvP combat areas and just messing around in general. I also appreciate that Runescape is made especially so that it can run on as many platforms as possible, instead of requiring the latest graphics card. I guess I became bored of it pretty quickly because I am not a member and am unable to afford the membership fees. (Eeek) Free-to-play is, for the most part, a grind-fest, unless you really like Bounty Hunter or Fist of Guthix. Bounty Hunter is at times amusing, but the fact that there are many players ten levels above me PKing implies that I'll probably never win until I reach their combat level. Guthix gets boring after you've managed to obtain all the rewards (and training mage in Guthix is far too tedious). I also dislike the fact that there are so many repetitive tasks. While I know that this is prevalent in many MMORPGs, grinding has just never appealed to me. I don't like doing the same task over and over again without automation (okay, to be frank, I think it's stupid not to do it with automation), and obviously, autoing any tasks would be against Runescape's rules. Because of this, I'm rarely interested in skill leveling of any kind, be it combat or smithing. This takes at least half the "fun" out of the game. I do think the game would be a lot more fun in members, but alas, if only I could get enough money to actually try that out.

Yes! It is infinitely better as a member! I don't mind free play right now because I found something fun to do, that is, training my pure character for PvP. But being a member makes the game so much more fun. The tediousness is gone as soon as you start, as there is a ton of new members-only things to do! I highly recommend becoming a member at your earliest opportunity, in fact, your earnings from myLot could be used for that! I think that's what I'm going to do. Thanks for the great response!

I used to be a member, but stopped paying ( although im trying to fund a new member account with paypal). I think that all the F2P skills are gathering skills, but members skills have so many different parts that go into them that their fun and not tedious. Oh, what I'd do to be a member again.
