Are you sure you broke the chair and it's not your co-workers playing a joke on you? Of course it's nothing to do with your weight. If you broke it, it may simply be something to do with the way you sit or lean back. We have a male friend who has broken three of our chairs at home because he rocks back on them. It's just a bad habit. If you found it was broken when you arrived at work, suggest you go to whoever can get you a new chair and say, "I seem to have been given that broken chair again." If you know for sure that you have broken it, just say, "I don't know why this is happening, but my chair has broken again", and let him or her sort it out. If they are rude in any way, just make it clear that it has never happened to you anywhere else before ever, so it must be a problem with the chairs. Don't be embarrassed - it could happen to anyone!
