Can you ever get too much sleep?

If I had things my way, I'd get 12 hours sleep
everyday! No exceptions. Of course, it's just
a dream but it would be really nice.
At least an extra hours sleep here and
there would help.
Can you ever really get too much sleep?
Do you function better with more sleep
or less sleep?

Yeah you can have too much sleep, but that makes you over tired which has the weird effect of making you feel tired still. I think that it is most productive to sleep less and stay awake more. I hate wanting to sleep in and having to get up but apart from that i dont really care what time i go to bed right now it is 4.21 in the morning and i can hear the birds starting to call. I might give sleep a miss for tonight.lol

i do think that you can get too much sleep...like when i have 5-6 hours sleep im still tired but like i have slept well...but if i sleep more than 8-9 hours then i wake up and feel worse. so i try to restrict my sleep time down so i dont feel awful when i wake up

Hi BeautyQueen.
I can get too much sleep and I can get too little sleep.
If I sleep for more than 8 hours, my back just kills me. I have a hard time getting up out of bed and then straighten up so that I can stand without having to bend over at my waist.
If I sleep for less than 5 to 6 hours, I"m grumpy, I can't do hardly anything right, my brain doesn't focus well, and I'm dragging myself home after work.
I have found that when I have 7 to 8 hours of sleep I feel pretty good. I have a better attitude and I can get through my workday with no probems.

Same here on everything you said.
Sleeping too little makes my eyes hurt
and I'm so moody all day.
I don't dare go near Mylot on days when I don't
get lots of sleep. The argumentative people
always find me and pick fights!

Hi,beautyqueen.I work very well when I can get 7 or 8 hours sleep every night.More or less hours of sleeping are all not good to me.If I sleep too much,I will feel very lazy to do anything even including getting up.And if I can't have 7 hours sleep,I will feel quite tired,too.By the way,I have a rest every noon and it is really helpful.
P.S. Don't sleep more than 1 hour at noon.Sleeping too much at noon will make you blunt.
