what is the difference between style fashion and trend

One day at the collage one of the prof just asked me about style . not knowing much i managed I give foolish ans. which I thought was satisfactory. Next question put forth to me was what is fashion , I gave a similar ans I was in a real pickle when he asked me difference between fashion style and trend.. So guys do you know whats is the difference . I didn't that and prof had answered already(I was late to my fashion class 1st day itself)...

I think fashion style is about ones own style while trend is the trend you follow like now the trend is wearing levis jean than you wear it. Not by your own style you wore it because its a trend now. Hope this helps.

A style refer to the way the clothes is cut and trend refer to the fashion that is popular in any given season. Best example to this is like this. I will go to my seamstress today to have a new skirt made for me. I want it to be long and with ruffles and lace in the hem, this is what we called style. Trend refer to the hottest trend in the summer, the most popular in that particular season.
