How Can You Be Against The Death Penalty But Be For Abortion?

The other day I talked to a person that was against the death penalty. Just to set the table I am for the death penalty, just if you were wondering. I ask these person if they were for Pro-Life, and I got a no. So I asked why, the response why all women should have the choice over their body. My response back to these person was, well should not the jury have all the choices available to them. The counter response was that the death penalty was inhumane, primitive, and it would be better punishment to make someone have to suffer behind bars. I decided to take response 1 and 3 on at the same time. You say that the death penalty is inhumane but you want the murderer to suffer, why not save the time and have the murderer suffer while being put to death. Counter response was that the death penalty was just too cruel and some innocent person might be put to death. I was puzzled by this counter response, this person had no problem with the idea of innocent babies being killed in the womb which sounds pretty primitive to me, but was against the death penalty. The person I was talking to did not see the comparison between abortion and the death penalty. So I am proposing the question to the MyLot community.
