What do you think of current oil prices? They have gone down and all, but they are still to high. How are you coping with this? Do you not drive as much or do you cut back on something else like food, shelter, clothing, etc?

Oil prices may go down a bit but as sure as sure can be they will rise once again. Its all because we are running out of then and I keep on wondering why don't we evolve and find a replacement for it. As for how I am coping, I gave up the ways of a motorist long ago and started to walk or ride a bike (walking is much better for me) and if ever I am unable to walk I plan to continue my travels using a wheelchair. I'll never cut back on more important things like food and shelter because they are necessities in life.

They might rise, yes. However, if user consumption continues to go down--a 2% decrease since last year--than demand will be down, thus, making oil prices go down. But I will agree, they will go back up. But only when it goes down and people can afford it. They will start driving more. I think we should convert to Flinstone vehicles. That would save alot of oil.

Replacements have already been developed. Really quite effective ones.
The problem is, the oil companies buy the alternative and all of its rights as soon as it becomes a possibility. Everyone has their price.

As a driver who happens to be a driver who drives for FUN rather than practicality, I have a rather strange stance on the oil prices.
I say let the prices rise!
There's a few financially elite who basically control everything, oil prices included. The cost of oil supports their profits because the masses (us) have no choice but to buy the oil in order to continue with our everyday lives.
As soon as the oil prices hit a point where they're too high for the masses to be able to afford there will be nothing generating massive profit for the financially elite and we'll finally see a turn for the better!
Bring on £2 per litre!

LOL I actually agree with you to a point. I want the prices to go higher and higher because when we can't afford them then we won't use them and then that will be one less pollutant to worry about. :p
