about a week age my apartment manager put a note on my door saying thet i had unatherized pets. and thet my apartment was filthy. she did a walk through of my apartment and when she did not find any pets. she said thet the apartment was trashed. i adment thet there was boxes all over the place but we had only been in the aprtment two weeks and had not finshed unpacking yet. so i called the home office to get some one else to come out and take a look at the apartment. when the women came out to look at it she was rude and said thet the carpets where messed up. and said thet we where going to get evected. so after she left we started to gather up all of the papers thet we had gotten from the manager and reqested thet we get a walk throw form from our last aprt and thet we need to now when the carpets had last been changed in our new aprt after they said now we whent to see a lawer to right a letter to the managment and have them hand over the papers thet we had asked for. we gave the letter to the apartment manager. the day after thet the lady thet did the sec walk throw called me and said thet we could stay and thet if we whanted to we could resing a lease when ours comes up nexed. and she said thet for haveing two kids my apartment looks grate. but i still have not gotten any thing thet i have asked for yet.

So, call the Health Department and have them do a walk-through and they will give you a documant of what THEY found. That should hold up later in court if the landloard wnats to mess with you. Sounds like this person juts wants first, last and security..then kicks out the person quick and does it again to make more cash off the next victim.
Call the Health Department today and ask them to do a quick inspection! The landloard/lady should lay off then. If not..demand back your original money and LEAVE! (Call the police and they will come do an immediate walk-thrugh. Sounds like a case of fraud and thta the person really had no intent to rent, but wants your cash!)

It's great you have a lawyer! Now get the official Health Department in your area to come out and look over your apartment and put what they find in writing. (Try to get the boxes unpacked quick first and tidy up.) Tell them you are still unpacking, so they know ahead..and show them anything in writing the landlady gave you.
If the place is a mess and you have dogs, like the person you rent form says..that renter will ahve NO problem with them coming, right? But if not..then you will be cleared and can give that to your lawyer to back you up. The Health department is there for you, also!
The person you rent from sounds "scabby!" The have no right to go through your apartment unless you are there. ( By law..if you live in the United States, they cannot come in unless you say OK.)
Make you ladlord or landlady prove their claim..and have your own proof ready..or take this person to court to get back all you put into moving in!-take LOTS of photos of the place and mail them back to yourself 9The date will be on the pphoto receipt) or have your lawyer take the photos and keep them. (You should do that before moving in anywhere anyway..plus IF any claim that you have destroyed anything is made against you.)
This person, if the place is not in good condition, may back WAY down fast if they fear the Health Department could condemn them?

Hi dad2spots,
That is just too awful for you, two weeks doesn't give much time to do anything to the apartment, you need to keep at it till you get what you want or they will their minds so get in touch with the people involved and get started for your own sake.

This does sound suspicious. I suspect that this may have something to do with the fact that you have kids; if that's the case, it constitutes housing discrimination-- which, of course, is illegal.
