my mom is a social security adminastrator and every time i try to talk to her about social security she tries not to respond can anyone really tell me the truth about social security how can we fix it im 19 will there be money for me honestly

Well, I think it depends on how many are working. We are living in trying times. There are many many people out of work. Your social security depends on the generation under you. If not enough people are working that means that it is less money going into the social security pool.

The problem with Social Security is that the Baby Boomers are reaching retirement age and soon there will be more people collecting social security than ever before. The upside is that there has been a recent mini boom in the population so these people will help to shore up the funds by the time your ready to retire. The only things that can be done to help keep the system solvent is to keep increasing the retirement age and to increase the amount each worker contributes towards the program. It's not just going to run out so don't get all freaked out about that.
