Have you ever been asked for Identification when you are way over the age limit?

I stopped at a quick chex yesterday with my niece, actually today is her birthday. She was in the store for quite some time, then she comes out and asks me to hand her her purse. She said the clerk needed to see identification. I said WHAT?? When she came back in the car, she said she gave the clerk her license, and asked what year does it say, the clerk said WOW, 1970, and my niece said when is my birthday, and the clerk said on my, it is tomorrow, and you will be 38 years old. How could she possibly mistake a 38 year old woman to be under 18 years old. I told my niece, well that was a great compliment for her 38th birthday

this happened to me in my local asda. i found it amusing as i had my husband and to daughters with me who are 8 and 6. they had even called me mum at the check out. i had to show my drivers licence to prove i was over 18. if i was that young then i must of started having kids at the age of 13!!

That's funny how some people look so much younger than what they are. The teenager's these days really look older than what they are , I guess that many of them can get by without showing ID.

I got carded up until I was about 35. I hated it but i'll tell you what...when it stopped, i think I hated that even more. It was the most irritating thing sometimes. I once went in a store with my daughter who was 12 and looked older than her age. I was about 33 and the clerk asked for us both to show ID. She of course had none and I had rushed out and hadn't brought mine so she refused to sell to me. I work in a store where I have to card people. I do card some that I really think are probably older and am often amazed to find that they are just barely old enough. I have seen 17 year olds that look every bit of 28 and I have seen 30 year olds that look as if they are 17. If there is a shadow of a doubt ...I card. If I sell to a minor, I get charged and will have to pay a huge fine and so will the store. I have to go to a special class at my expense and could very well lose my job. I'd rather card and seem foolish than risk it.

Of course, it is always better to be safe than sorry.

I am almost 30 and get carded constantly. Even if my 9 year old son is with me, people think he is my brother!

Yes, it actually is a compliment.
