Are the colours of your flag stand for something?

The Romanian flag is blue, yellow and red. I am proud of it. It has a significance too: blue stands for the waters and sky, yellow for mature grains (Romania was once upon a time the biggest grains producer in Europe) and the red stands for the blood that our ancestors lost defending the country. What's the significance of yours? And you can add a pic too if you have one. Thanks!

Nice topic, BTW, the study of flags is known as vexillology. Since someone has already covered the USA flag, I am adding an image of my home state flag, The Oklahoma flag is 'sky blue' in color with a drawing of a shield (native american - Osage Tribe style), with two images of peace crossed on the shield (peace pipe and olive branch). The color was chosen to match previous banners used by Choctaw soliders, however I don't know the meaning of the color to them.

The National Flag of Pakistan is dark green in color with a white vertical bar, a white crescent in the center and a five-pointed star. The significance of the color and symbols used in the Pakistan Flag is as follows:
1-The white and dark green field represents peace and prosperity.
2-The crescent on the Flag represents progress.
3-The five-rayed star represents light and knowledge.

Yes the colors in the American flag stand from something as well: Red signifies valor and bravery, White signifies purity and innocence, while Blue signifies vigilance, perseverance, and justice.

well our flag is red, white with a green ceader.. in the middle of the white and then red at the end..
the red stands for the blood of the murdered and who were killed during wars that happened in lebanon.. before independance..
and white stands for the peace (ya kinda ironic.. blood and peace) that happens when ppl stick together..
and the green ceader.. well because lebanon is proud of its ceader trees and we got LOTS of it.. so its been on the flag itself!

The Singapore flag consists of two equal horizontal sections, red above white. Red symbolises universal brotherhood and equality of man. White signifies pervading and everlasting purity and virtue. The crescent moon represents a young nation on the ascendant. The five stars stand for the nation's ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.
