What would you consider a fair rate to charge for private swim lessons? I have 15+ years experience teaching children and am looking to go to their locations so they do have money (or at least have their own pool). I have seen prices ranging from $45-$20 for a half hr session, what would you consider fair?

For one half hour private lesson? If I figured on 3 a week, I'd say $10-15 a lesson, $30-45 a week. I pay $28 for two weeks of group lessons, which are half hour sessions M-F, that's ten lessons... the group ones are a little over $2 each. I really love the community center though, my daughter's preschool is through them as well and I only pay $42/month. The private preschools in this area charge $150-270 a month lol. They also count on your kids going every day for 4+ hours though, I only take my daughter on Mon and Wed.

I was shocked by it to, but remember I am driving to them and have 15 years experience. All of my clients have their own pools and are paying mostly for the convience of not having to go to a lesson the lesson comes to the. The Y charges $60 for group lessons here, so it comes out to about $7.50 per lesson but you have to go them and be memebers... For me to drive to these places will cost me $8 in gas (on a good gas week it changes daily here!). I use the Y for kid corner too it is covered in our membership.
