Fairs and food... or the eternal hunt for the perfect scone!

What is your favorite must-have at the fair or an amusement park destination? I just found out that I may get to go to the fair I used to go to all the time as a kid, and I am already thinking about what I want to see and what I must snag to eat before we leave.
I will probably make sure I try anything regional that is only available up north, this fair is famous for its scones so I should have my hubby try one. I also like roasted corn (I get this anywhere it's available) and funnel cakes.

Oh Mommyboo, I have to diet for a month after the fair has come and gone here... I have one big bag of cotton candy, one funnel cake, Big carmel apple, usually 2 corn dogs, 2 or 3 ice cones, an Italian Sausage W/the works green peppers onions ceder cheese....
Of course not all in one night, LMAO my stomach would burst. We go several nights that week.

my mother would never let us eat much at a fair & the hamburgers always smelled sooooo good. about all we were able to have was a fiddlestick.[ice cream]

Here when the fair comes we all go out to find a funnel cake, and then it might be one of those blooming onions, depends on what I am in the mood for, but what about the italian sausages with the fried bell peppers and onions, oh the fair will be here in August, can't wait. There are too many things in the line of food venders to choose. We just go every day as it is right behind our house and get something new.

Hot dog! I really love a hot dog when I am out at a place like that, they just have this taste that I can never get if I do them at home!
It has been a while since I have been to a decent fair or park!

Oh my goodness. I love food at the fair! Before I moved to the south, I lived in Indianapolis and I would always get Elephant ears. They are so good, especially when they are hot. I also love the grilled corn and the huge corn dogs that are crunchy on the outside, and slightly sweet. I am getting so hungry just thinking about it.
