I’m addicted to travelling, I’d love to visit more travel destinations than I do, in fact if I could afford it, and had enough leave at work I would travel some where different ever month. I’ve decided that I want to visit four new destinations this year and these are the reasons why:Seven Reasons why I love Travelling
Meeting new people
I travel a lot by myself, some people would call that sad, but I love my own company, and it gives me the opportunity of meeting new people; locals especially love talking with you and helping you understand their way of life and also learning more about England.
Trying the local delicacies
I hate it when I see English people going into the likes of McDonalds, and FKC abroad – I much prefer to eat the local delicacies, and sample the local beers. In fact every destination I visit I try out their locally brewed beer, and have come to love beers like Mythos, in an ice cold beer jug.
The atmosphere of travelling
The atmosphere of arriving in a new country, watching the scenery as I take the trip to my hotel, people watching in a local bar or café. The build up of excitement as I arrive at my airport (hopefully on time) and then getting on to the plane for my journey – I just love the buzz of travelling.
Learning new languages
Being from Yorkshire, it’s sometimes difficult to understand us, we talk quite fast, well I do, and we don’t know when to shut up, so it’s always handy to learn some of the local language and I actually enjoy learning the basics before I travel.
Mixing with the locals
Whilst mixing with tourists provides a good atmosphere, you cannot beat sat in a café or restaurant surrounded by locals. You learn a lot about the language, and how they interact with other locals; I was in Torrevieja at my dad’s apartment, and we were invited to a house party, most of the guests could speak fairly good English and we learnt alot about their culture.
Finding exciting attractions
When I plan a trip away, I always create a list of places that I want to visit, and make sure I visit those places. There’s been times when I’ve arrived at the attraction and I’ve stood there with excitement, the Sydney Harbour bridge was one of those occasions.
The memories
I love taking my camera wherever I go, and I try and take as many pictures as I can, so that I can reminisce. I drive the family mad because whenever I return from a holiday or weekend trip, I get them together and show all of the photos.
Why do you love travelling?

I really love to travel and it is my top hobby.
I have been fascinated with the world since I can remember and I dreamed when I was a child that one day I would go around the world. I realized this dream in 1993 when I spent a year away. I went to the USA, Fiji, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia.
These are the things I love about traveling:
1. Seeing great architecture
Sydney opera house is my favorite building. Tudor houses in Germany look quite charming and their castles are stunning looking.
2. Watching native wildlife
I have snorkeled with sting rays, small sharks, a turtle and dolphins. I have seen form boats whales and manatees. I went on a safari in Kenya and saw lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes and rhinos. I have seen kangaroos, koalas, possums and cockatoos in Australia.
3. Meeting the local people
I met the Masai tribe in Kenya. I like to hear different languages.
4. Taking photos of stunning scenery
I adore tropical beaches and islands. I so love taking photos of these.
5. Going on different types of transport
By train is my favorite way to travel. Going on buses and boats is enjoyable. I like to go by plane to reach a far away destination quickly.
6. Experiencing different climates
Most of all I like hot and dry weather but a variety is interesting.
7. Learning about other cultures and different religions
I have seen the Masai tribe in Kenya and found out about their culture. I have been to the Dome of the Rock and the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
