Yeah, he does. He's our HOD in my college, and taht too, head of MY department. And he hates my class even though we havn't done anything really offensive compared to the other classes in my college. except maybe for our juniors, but then later versions are always better than earlier versions. We odnt know what to do about it. All other proffesors are cool with us, some of them really love us, and let us go a bit early ore let us in if we come late etc. But HOD yells at them if he catches them partial to us. And its only towards our class. Today, he walked in caught a boy sitting on top of the table of the desk and said, "Next thing I'll see you sitting on top of the fan." funny, but we have nothing against him, but he just doesnht want to be close to us. Is there any solution to this?

hmmm..why not try asking your other professors for help with your HOD. There must be a reason why his acting like that, right?

There sure is. He calls us "uncultured", but let me tell you that there's not a class in the entire campus which is more cultured than ours. lol. As for help, HOD never listens o anyone but himself. Its true we have nothing against him, but at this rate, we'll end up hating him a lot. He's ruining our classes hard-earned reputation.lol,

Well I hate to sound like a stick in the mud but maybe your HOD wants you to act like the young adults you are instead of a bunch of Junior High School kids. It's his job to get you ready to enter the real world, not to be cool with you. Listen the fact is the real world is a hard place, and your education is important if you want to make it. So maybe if your class behaves like young adults (not sitting on tables and such) maybe he will treat you with more kindness. Even if he doesn't guess what out here in the real world people are not always nice sometimes you just have to learn to deal with it.

No, its fine. But i think he wants us to act like a bunch of junior high kids or rather, primary school kids, than college guys and gals. Why, he and the principal (i'm not against either of them) together plotted that we should have strict timing, no roaming in capus during class, give leave letters if we bunk.. i guess its a new idea, perhaps that's why we're against it, but nevertheless, we hate these rules. We used to be like, free birds, not caged parrots. I mean, true, we need to study, but this is too much. Its not like we cant learn on our own, afterall, we didn't waltz into the college one fine day, we earned it. There's no need for all this in our campus.

I find it little strange. Its really difficult to identify your problem at this point of time. Might be as the Teachers day is approaching, you can plan something nice for him. I think this can help you. I had great relations with my HOD and I still cherish that.
