Isn't it odd?

When I began trying to lose weight, I could feel my body slimming slightly, but the scale was not moving. I noticed my clothes fitting better, but the scale said I hadn't lost any weight for a good couple of weeks.
Now the scale is taking drastic dives everyday. One day I looked and it said I had lost 5 lbs, the next day I'd lost 2 more. I'm not doing anything differently than I was.
What's odd is, now that the scale is showing that I've lost weight, I don't really feel it on my body anymore. I don't feel like I'm slimming down anymore. The way my clothes fit hasn't changed.
I've lost a total of about 15 lbs since the beginning of this month. But I haven't changed clothing sizes, and I don't feel much slimmer. I hardly notice a difference at all anymore other than the fact that my clothes fit well, and some of them are even loose.
Have you noticed things like that?

A lot of times before you see the numbers on the scale go down, you notice a looseness in your clothes. You are probably losing inches and adding muscle at the same time so it's going to look at first like the weight loss is canceling itself out. Which in a way it is because muscle weighs more than fat.
You might also want to take a look at how much calories you are taking in. If you are burning off more calories then you are taking in you won't see a change on the scale at all as your body will start feeding on your muscles first, then your fat. So if you up'd your exercise amount a great deal then what your body is used to you are going to have to up your food intake at the same time until your body gets used to all the exercising. :o)
Good luck with your weight loss and congrats on the 15 lbs this month!!

That doesn't make any sense to me, my body feeds on the muscle first? And I have to eat MORE to LOSE weight? I just don't understand that.

I think muscle weighs more than fat, so sometimes the weight loss or reshaping kind of cancels itself out in terms of what's on the scale. However, what really matters is how you look and feel so it's best to not worry about the actual number on the scale as long as your other indicators are good.
But wow, 15 pounds since the beginning of the month? I wish I could say that! What are you doing??

I've given up soda, I drink a lot of water, and am eating healthier foods instead of junk food. I've also lowered my calorie intake to half of what I'm burning. Which means on days when I don't excersize, I have to eat even less calories, but I eat a lot of vegetables which have very few calories but lots of vitamins.
I'm trying to excersize everyday, and I keep upping the amount of excersize I do. I started with a few daily crunches and not much more. Now I am excersizing for about an hour as well as my usual daily activity.

Yes, that happens to me but opposite. I gain weight and I don't really notice it it my clothing. Now I only go on the scale every month. It seems that the scale is deceiving at times.

If you are exercising, that makes sense. I lost many inches and a few sizes before losing any weight. The other thing that most people don't consider is intestinal weight. You could have as much as 15 lbs of waste in your body.
The only proven was to lose weight and keep it off includes exercise. The more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism will be.
Just some food for thought...
