Do you still consider reading the bible a necessity?

Absolutely not.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good book, with interesting stories but it's certainly not a neccessity. No-one NEEDS to read it.
Even for religious believers it delivers questionable moral ideals at best. Take it with a pinch of salt and try to enjoy it.

Why do I say we don't need to read it? Well because it's just a book. And not only that, it's a book that's constantly getting amended and has been for thousands of years.
Even if it was once the word of God, it certainly isn't anymore. The very notion that any human being can convince themselves they have the right to change the word of God is ridiculous. That's brainwashing and indoctrination for personl gain, and I'm sure God wouldn't want that.
Why do I say it delivers questionable moral ideals? Well, that's a whole different story and a very loooooong post, so let me know if you want an answer to that one! :)

Yes I consider it a necessity for me to read it daily - It gets me through the day in the best - mental and emotional place. I believe that everyone can benefit from reading the Bible and that it only takes reading it more than you are now to change your life for the better.

Even if one may not consider himself a Christian person, I think The Bible contains many stories of good moral value, and full of useful such teachings. If we choose not to take it literally, The Bible is still a book full of interesting stories we can read as pure fiction. Therefore, no matter how religious you are, I think The Bible remains a good book to read.

Hi there! I am not holistic but I would say reading the bible is very important.
A necessity is like a car,or a cellphone, I don't consider reading the bible a necessity but a real commitment. We all have our own convictions,but I do believe if all are committed in reading the bible,what a wonderful world we're in.
