first of all, good job for separating them from the other... the fish that is injured should be separeated so it wont be killed... (this is tested and proven by me before, other fish kills the weak ones)... provide the injured fish with clean water and of course air... then go to pet shops, I forgot what they call it but there is this liquid that is something like a medicine, you just add it to the water... that makes the fish feel better.. and wil get back to its old shape... i just dont know for how long, so just read the instructions... i hope your fish will get better soon...

If you have a female blue gourami that is plump with eggs, you need a mature male that has built a nest for her to be able to lay her eggs. He will wrap his body around hers under the bubble nest and squeeze the eggs out while releasing his sperm. The eggs will float up into the nest and they (mostly the male) will make sure that the eggs do go into the nest. He will watch the eggs and young so you should take all other fishes out of the tank besides him so that the eggs and young do not get eaten. After the young are free swimming then take out the male or he might start eating them. good luck in raising these fish.

As long as you keep the female gourami separated from the male (and any other fish that might be chasing her) and keep the water clean (water changes) and warm she should be fine. I do not like to add any meds to the water in case the bacteria turn into "super bugs" by becoming immune to the meds that were not administered properly. If you keep the fish in good conditions then it's immune system should be able to fight off most parasites (some bacteria are parasites). Also make sure to give your fish a good diet that include a variety of different foods (foods that are for the particular species of fish that yo are keeping because an oscar and a pleco do not have the same diet) Also make sure that the fish is in a large enough tank, the one inch of fish per gallon of water is not a good rule of thumb especially with larger fishes. I like to multiply the length times the height of the adult size of the fish (not including the fins) to get the number of gallons of water that the fish should be in. Not put in a baby fish that is half an inch into a half gallon of water when it could reach a length of 10 inches or more. This is cruel if you try to keep putting a fish int a larger tank when it out grows the tank that it is in. Most people do not know when to move a fish and wait until irreversible damage has been done to the fish.

hmmm does not sound too good and also not like she is going to lay eggs either. Have you checked the water quality? Also the damaged fin might obstruct her swimming. Since you dont tell what fish it is, its hard to give any answers. The fin might have been bitten by the other fishes or got stuck into the pump. keep a close eye on her, but if she has no sickness symptoms, I am affraid you are going to loose this fish.
