Someone paid in $100 into my e-gold account,i was never expecting any money from anybody, and i didn't know who did it, but i noticed that it was not credited into the account,so i called the Company since they never replied my questions but they said i shouldn't worry about it,if you were in my shoes ,what will you do? Even if they said you shouldn't worry about it?

Can't get the hang of this. Are you $100 richer or not? If you are welldone and don't worry (and you can buy an umbrella now ) If you're not, well you weren't expecting it anyway so you won't lose any sleep over it.

I am not looking for an umbrella that will end me in prison.I am not a slave to money, money is a slave to me, because i have to control it and not money controlling me.

Lets see if I understand this right. You got a notification that you got $100 in your e-gold account, but when you checked the money wasn't there? You also didn't expect any payment at all, especially not in that amount? I that correct? If yes, I hope you didn't use a link in the email to check for the money. Looks like phishing to me.

Okay, now I understand. Errors happen. You may have some info similar to the actual recipient of the money and the sender of the money made a mistake and the money ended up in your account. The mistake was probably noticed right away. That's why you still see the note of the $100 but you account balance is not $100 higher. Now, you did the right thing in notifying e-gold about this incident. Further steps are not necessary. Even, if the money hit your account, notifying e-gold (or if it happens with a bank account, the bank) of the problem is a nice thing to do although not required. Unfortunately, even if the money is there, you cannot spend it, if it is not yours. So, just let it sit until somebody reports it missing and they go looking for it. Here is what happened to us. We suddenly had a deposit of over $2,000 in our checking account. This was years back when we were students. And no, we did not expect money from any source. The bank was like, 'Well, if you want us to investigate what this deposit is, we'll have to charge you a $5 fee for that.' We just thought they were crazy and said 'No. Thank you! It's not our mistake and it's not like we have less money now'. Anyhow, a week or so later we got a note that the money was deposited in error. It was a large company that had deposited a check and the person keying it in had hit a wrong number and the money ended up in our account. They took it out but we got to keep the interest made on that, lol. See, mistakes happen. Happened to others before, too. Some spent the money and got in trouble, because they knew it wasn't theirs and didn't have 'good faith'. Then it would be illegal. You did what you needed to do. In fact you did more than you needed to do. Now, if they suddenly take money out of your account, well, then it's time to raise h$ll.

I think you should immediately close your E-Gold account. You are the victim of a pfishing scam, and if you checked into your account on an e-mail, then you will have lost all your personal details for that account to the scammers. My advice is to get out quick, and ask your bank to change the security number on your credit card, if you have one. I'm sorry you've been caught out like this but the company you checked with is obviously the scammer. Please be wise to any future notifications of this type. Brightest Blessings.

Thank you for BR my friend. You're more than welcome, and I would add as an afterthought, that perhaps you ought to change your password and pin at E-Gold also, just in case. You can never be too careful. x

well, am not sure, if i were on you're shoes i will have a lot questions too. why would they register a hundred dollar on your account and not credit it anyway? i dont know. but if they say that you should not worry, then maybe you should not. but it's best to ask them why it's not registered when you see it in the account.

Be careful....my husband had money oddly show up into his bank account and he said to me that it could be a scam and a way for hackers to access your account....I figure with online places like Egold, Paypal and the like the same thing could happen..

If the company says that it's not a problem then it is not a problem. Use it wisely to free yourself from guilt.

If you werent due any money and you hadnt earned any money,or you werent expecting any money, then im sure that it wasnt your money in the fist place. It seem to me that e-gold have somewhere along the line made a mistake, and mistakes do happen, they are annoying and frustrating, but they still happen. It is a similar thing when the bank deposits money into your account, then you find out thast they have made an error.

Pennies from heaven - found money.
I would do as the company says, and not worry about it. I would leave the mney in the account in case it was deposited by mistake. If it is not taken back, then it is yours. Are there details with this deposit, something like a phone number or name? Maybe it's your pennies from heaven.

if they weren't replying you tried your best maybe put the money in your savings... dont spend it for like a month at least you could have earned maybe a little interest. Just a precaution maybe they will claim the 100 usd soon...

I don't think that you will get the payment. Whatever notification you got is a fake from my view point. You shouldn't worry about the money which doesn't belong to you!!
