Hi everyone. I'm considering going to see the new Batman film, The Dark Knight, at the cinema this weekend, but I've heard mixed reviews. Has anyone seen it, and if so could you tell me whether it's worth seeing or not? I think it's something that would interest me, but I just wanted to get a few more opinions before I go to see it. Thanks in advance!

I am a girl so I don't like movies like Batman much, but my boyfriend was anctious to see it, as the movie promised a lot and had lots of publicity and all ,and he got to watch it the other days. Then I heard him comment with a friend that the movie was good, unlike other movies that have 2 or 3 parts,or that get a lot of publicity for nothing, and that this one was really worth watching.
So I suppose you should try and watch it too

Well let me tell you something, if you are a Batman fan, and one of the Batman fans that have always seen Batman as a true "Dark Knight" and how he does what's necessary and NOT what's popular, you will think this is the best movie you have ever seen in your life. Believe me, I did. Everything that Batman did in this movie, and everything that Gordon says about Batman, is exactly how I always invisioned him as a kid and still today. Plus the extra characters are great, I believe it's truly Heath Ledger's Masterpiece (take it, I never liked any other role he's played) and if you know anything about the comics, you will certainly not be disappointed!

Fantastic film. I really enjoyed it.
You can definately see the director has taken his inspiration from Michael Mann's 1995 film "HEAT". There are about 3 stories happening at once, you would think this would be the movie's downfall but the way it has been put together really works well.
Saying that though, Heath Ledger was good, his performance was good, but definately not "Oscar Worthy" If they plan on giving him an oscar for this performance it is simply for the sympathy vote in my opinion. It was a terrible thing that happened to him, yes, but don't give him an Oscar if he doesn't deserve it. Then again, The Joker isn't exactly a role they would hand out Oscars for, so if he does win one, it will be an even bigger farce.
The action is great. The story is great. The acting is great. Well written and well directed, there's No reason why you shouldn't go and see it.

OH DUDE YES! Go see it now!!!! Trust me, it broke box office records for a reason! I suppose some could judge it harshly just for how dark it is, but I think anyone that's seen the first one knows what to expect in that category. The plot is intense and thrilling- constantly changing and speeding up continuously, and the character development is out of this world. Heath Ledger played the best Joker I've ever seen, and that's high praise coming from me! It's a pity he isn't here to be the Joke any more .
