I know that its highly recommended. My family and I want to learn Thai and their program seems to be the most praised.

Just from college and self study. You can usually find a group of people who want to learn another language through the library and they will always help each person in the group to succeed. You might give that a shot, if that doesn't work, start your own club Mrs. President.

rosetta stone is VERY expensive. i only suggest spending that amount of money if you are absolutely comitted to learning a new language. if you want to just kinda spend a little to get an idea of the difficulty and your comittment to learning a new language i suggest getting "italian in 10 minutes a day". there's a whole series for different languages and the book is about $15. i have the norweigian version and it really helps out by showing you in phonetics how to pronounce the words. my friend had the german version and since i actually took german at school i was able to verify that they actually are showing you the correct pronounciation in phonetics. it's better than getting a tape or cd and have to keep rewinding over and over again.

I've tried their free demo, and really liked it. Unfortunately, it is too expensive for me to buy. I've been using Byki. It is free to download, but you can buy their deluxe version. www.byki.com
I've been using it to learn Spanish, but they have Italian, and many other languages available.

Rosetta stone is a good program. I believe it is used by the state department to teach languages to their employees. I have experimented with the free demos they have available on the internet. They are lots of fun. I would suggest going to their site and practicing with the demos and see if it is comfortable for you.

I haven't used it in years. I do most of my learning online because the program takes up space on my computer and I need that for my games, lol. I do plan on putting it back on here when I have some extra space. I need a major update or two for more RAM. I had fun using Rosetta and I found it very useful.

i've learned my english from a dictionary so i believe everyone can learn what language they want to if the same use the normal words. so you can learn italian easily just start read some texts and see some movies to learn how to speak and how to write and i give you less the six months to learn it. you wont speak very well but of course can be understood ^^
thanks, Scorpionok.
