This morning I attended this lay forum about taking care of your liver. The doctor had a lot of charts, statistics and pictures of diseased livers. But it all boils down to this: Prevention is still better than cure. The old adage still works. And to prevent liver disease and liver damage, we must:
1. Avoid fatty foods
2. Diet and exercise. Diet without exercise is no good, and vice versa.
3. Get checked at least once a year - ultrasound of the liver or liver function tests
I am posting this because last week I went to a hospital to visit my brother in law who had a minor surgery. He shared a room with a guy who had liver cancer which had developed from liver cirrhosis earlier. It was awful to watch the cancer patient: swollen abdomen, sunken eyes and cheeks, and he could barely talk. It was obvious he was in great suffering. I hope there will be less like him. Let's take care of our health!

You're welcome. Health is wealth, they say, and I have come to realize the painful truth in this age-old adage as I grow older. Happy mylotting and take care. :)
