Unhealthy Experiences With So-Called Mental Health Meds

Could you help me to do some research, please? I'm wondering if anybody reading this has had bad experiences with drugs prescribed by psychiatrists--and this can also include your experience or the experience of your child/a child you know with Ritalin. I'm looking for things such as side-effects, and I'm also wondering if you felt helped enough by the drug(s) that taking it/them was worth the side-effects. Also, what's your overall feeling when it comes to psychiatric meds? Do you feel that they're sometimes helpful; not helpful enough to be worth the side-effects; or absolutely NOT helpful and that you ended up feeling worse with them than without them?
