Pune, Mumbai and Satara and neighboring places experienced an earthquake today early morning around 1:30 am. The magnitude of the earth quake was recorded as 4.2
The earthquake’s centre was near Satara in Maharashtra.
No damages has been reported so far. Felt a slight jolt and few things displaced...
Earthquake has also been reported at Southern California, US at the same time..
LOS ANGELES — A moderate earthquake, the largest in Southern California since 1999, struck 35 miles east of downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday morning. It swayed buildings and tossed food off grocery store shelves, but there were no reports of major injuries or damage ..The earthquake, which registered a 5.4 magnitude, was centered near Chino Hills in San Bernardino County and was felt as far east as Las Vegas and south to San Diego.....are these two earthquakes related? i hope all are well and no damages done? don't you think this is strange two places so far away have an earthquake at the same time?

I haven't looked at a map, but the two locations may share opposite sides of the same tectonic plate. I do hope everyone is alright on your side of the world! Earthquakes are so frightening, I have never been in one and don't want to be!

Not really. We are all on one big ball so to me it only sands to reason that things that happen in one place will have an effect on other places, we just don't normally recognize it when it does. Though I do want to say that I'm keeping everyone effected by the quakes in my prayers. I'm glad to hear you are o.k.
