Residents of South Texas are finally able to enter their homes after the enormous amount of rain they received from Hurricane Dolly. Some residents are finding everything they owned either wet or covered in mold after days of heat and humidity.
One such resident was finally able to enter her home just outside McAllen after days of being without electricity. The force of the wind blew a power pole over, which blocked entry into her home. Electricity has been restored to the area but the electrical pole remains resting in front of the door. The resident was able to enter her home only to find that all of the clothes inside her closet were wet and molded. Now, she has to contact the Salvation Army and Red Cross to see if she can find clothes to wear to work.
The owner of the property has to repair the pole before the resident can regain access to her home. In the meantime, she is staying with friends and family wearing the only three changes of clothes she has left.
If anyone has suggestions to help this lady, please respond to this discussion. She, and other residents of the area could sure use your prayers.

Hi Terilee.
I have an idea of what Texas is going through now. We had a huge rain in a very widespread area in the midwest back in June that caused flooding. Thank goodness members of my family were spared of any of the flooding.
One place that might be able to help is a local Goodwill store. That is if they hadn't also been flooded. They might have a voucher program with a local church, shelter, or organization that would allow a person in hardship to get some clothing at no cost.
Also, there might be a local program that helps people get pieces of clothing for their work wardrobe.
At a food kitchen in the town where I used to live, they also had a clothes closet where people could get free clothing. Usually, whenever I got there, it was pretty well picked over.
I hope these ideas have been helpful.
