Do You Believe?

Many individuals do believe. Do you? I do. But as a society in general, are we arrogant in thinking that we are the only sentient-inhabited planet in the entire universe? Why or why not?

I believe in many things. Do you mean aliens or something?

I think that it would be extraordinarily presumptuous of us to think that we are the only ones in space. I like to think that somewhere deep in a solar system a zillion light years from Earth there are "people" pottering about saying "I wonder if we are alone?" I don't necessarily subscribe to the notion that all life forms are more advanced than us, in fact in some ways we are marvelous; in others, of dear! I do struggle with the number of alien sightings though. If there are that many how come nobody has tried properly to make contact with us? Of course there is that old question, "How do I know that you exist and vice versa?" What happens to our "souls" when we die etc. Got to trot now. Alpha Centurai Momma is calling me in for my tea!!

Saturn - The planet of Saturn in the universe.
Sometimes I do think we as a society are a bit ignorant to think we are the only ones in the universe. Do you realize how expansive the whole solar system and universe are. Yes, I do believe anything at this point. Anything is possible and there isn't any reason not to believe there could be intelligent life on the other end of the galaxy.

I agree. Not only is society ignorant, but also blind. We only see what we want to see. I find it impossible to imagine that we are the only ones "out there". You are absolutely right, anything IS possible. Thanks for responding!
