I will fix the problem myself.... unless the computer is under warranty..then it is the computer manufactures job to fix it.
If I can't figure it out, like most good computer techs, you talk to others that had that problem already, and ask them how they fixed the problem.
A good computer tech is willing to always learn something new and admit that they don't know how to fix something, but will find out how. You need to remain open minded and always learning in the electronic field.
You can learn alot from your peers in the electronics field.
ex. Customer calls you on phone. They tell you they lost their mouse. Techs response: Did you check under the furniture.

I will try and fix the problem myself depending on what it is though..
i have friend who fixes computers for a living and has taught me a lot over the years
so i can usually fix it myself. I have upgraded certain parts of my computer by opening it up and replacing the parts and i have had problems in the past but i've been able to fix them all myself. I've only had to have someone out here once and that was only because my computers warranty and they had to bring me the part. it was heat something but a part on it had broken and so my computer wouldn't boot up because it couldn't get the heat it needed.
i hate having to call people to help me because they make me go through so much crap i already know and have done. That is why i am calling them because everything i do know has not worked yet. so i call them

I always fix it myself since my dad refuses to take it to a center for repairs. The costs are ridiculous and they charge usually by the hour and most of the time they arent even working on the pc.

I manage to do it on my own, my PC is a bit old and I somehow adjusted to its tantrums and normally it doesn't take me too long to know the cause of the problem. Nothing so far has any component of it give way but I have replaced its motherboard and the processor as an upgrade to enhance its performance. The trend these days are replaced and sad to say nothing is being fixed anymore.

Hello dear dqh. When my laptop has something wrong, I take it to my computer man and then he will help fix it for me and install a saftware that I can handle by myself when later it has the same problem, making it easier for me to operate on it. By the way, I don't take it to the computer man unless it is affected by some evil viruses and affects me from using it. Thank you.

I fix and make my own. I've been working with computers since 1963 and even taught computer design at University several times. It is not difficult, and much less expensive than taking it to a PC center. Parts are very inexpensive. What you pay for at the PC center is the labor (which often is less than 15 minutes and they will charge you for an hour).
