What happened to Whitney Houston?

Whatever happened to Whitney Houston? She seems to have faded from the limelight recently, or is it longer than recently? Her life experience, including marriage experience would, I suppose, also one day be turned into a movie, in similar tradition as that of Tina Turner. She is a most gifted artist and wonderful performer. Although her movie career, I think, leaves much to be desired. She most certainly cannot acclaim movie star status, in my opinion. However I'd still like to see her in a live stage performance. I appreciate her type of music and confident stage performance and personality. With a wonderful voice like that plus the good looks, she can still demand a lot of attention.
