I often see, people being superstitious. Many people stop continuing the work they are currently doing when someone sneezes, they don't cross the road when a cat passes across in their way, etc. This is what I found here in India in this 21st century. Moreover this are common in literate peoples from metropolitan cities. They know that its scientifically incorrect but then also they continue. Now, I think that people should develop a more scientific mind and stop all this non-sense. What do you people think about it.

i muself am a absolutely superstitious. i think it not bad sometimes and it's partial believes for me. i said, it's just personally opinions. do not be nerverous.
i think every one has his own system of believes coming from his region and local social culture and education and experience. meanwhile, it's a virtual spirit, as a adult, we always controlled by the lays and should be respected the social enviroment.
so supertitiousness is not purity, it's controlled by life situation. i think. but all in word, i agree with your point, india is too sensative about the animal since i have been to there. but i respect their idea of protecting the enviroment especially to plant like trees and grass and so on.
all this just for your information.
thanks for careness about the superstitious.

The thing about superstitions is that even when we know that it is not scientifically sound we tend to forget about the science sometimes. People automatically knock on wood, go around a ladder, be careful of black cats crossing their path....even when they don't believe in the superstition behind it.
It's like the people that seem compelled to forward those awful emails just because it says they will have bad luck if they don't. I know many people don't don't consider themselves superstitious, and still do it.. just in case :)

yes but the thing is, when you get them out of some superstitions, they will find more. it just seems to be human nature. it is best to use your mind and common sense. but getting people to do that is another matter.
