If you had to choose one book that had the biggest impact on your life, what would it be?
Mine is 'The Magic of Thinking Big' by David Schwarz. It's about 6 years old, but the advice within is timeless. I only wish I'd stumbled on the book 15 years ago.
Have you read any books that have changed your life? In what way did they do so? And what book was it?

I read "Gone With The Wind" by Margaret Mitchell 5 years ago and I still love that book. I love it and I really influenced by the book. It changed my way of life and it changet the way I think about something. I opened my mind and started to believe that a woman can be stronger than man.

Hi erik319, Welcome to myLot, I hope you will enjoy your time here and make both friends and money. I have never read the book that you mentioned but one of the books that helped me was The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. This book was written more than fifty years ago but is still popular today. Another was The Magic of Believing, I believe the author was Claude Bristol. There are of course many more such books on the market today. Thanks for posting this discussion. Blessings.

hello erik319,
welcome to mylot! i hope you are enjoying your stay out here.
anyway to answer your question my most favorite book of all time is "the alchemist" by Paulo Coelho.
i was in College (18yo) when i first read that book.
i have always longed for ways to be happy and when i read it, it guides me and help me find what i am looking for in life and i can honestly say that i am on my way for fully finding it.
the best quote for me is...
"‘The secret of happiness is to see all the marvels of the world, and never to forget the drops of oil on the spoon.’”
i remember writing about it on my diary and here it goes (to summarize it all)
people think im smart (a$$... lol!), intelligent yet witty, snob, poor, pain, name it... well,, i guess they already named me... but despite this name-calling, tag, label that sticks on my name,,, one thing i am sure of,,, with any of those,,, i prefer to be called WISE,, having WISDOM is not only having a brain,, but most of all... HEART
have a good one!

This may seem a weird book to choose; i've read a great deal of books but the one that affected me most is the classic Roald Dahle book Mr and Mrs.Twits which i read when i was about 8/9. Lol opended me up to the great world of reading and explored the sides of evil and how it's represented.

Hello!
I don't really know the name of the book in English, but in Portuguese it is called: "O Monge e o Executivo". I can't remember the author's name either, since I never keep record on them. By googling it you will find all information, I'm sure. It talks about leadership, and the advices in there are really valuable. Now, I liked the title of the book you said. I should try reading it and seeing what can I learn from it.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

by Oprah Wingfrey. It is a really uplifting book however.

I'd have to say that the Bible is my favorite book and it has had the biggest impact on my life. It's God's instruction manual for us, and His eternal love letter. When I am down, I can turn to the Psalms and discover that the Psalm writers often got angry with God and yet ended up praising Him. When I need a touch of wisdom, Proverbs is full of timeless truth.

The Bible. It's the only one book that changed my life. It is the best book ever written. It is the word of God. It's God's way of communicating with people like me. And I wish to share the lyrics of this beautiful song which will further explain why I love the Bible so much.
The Bible is the best book,
The book we hold most dear,
A story book, a picture book,
A book of songs to cheer.
The Bible tells of Jesus,
Who watches from above,
The Bible brings the message sweet,
That God is Love.
The Bible, too, has letters,
That bring good news in them,
The Bible tells us Jesus said,
"Let children come to Him."
The Bible teaches lessons
On what we all should be,
The Bible came from God above,
For you and me.
