Acai Berries...have you tried them?

I have recently heard about the acai berry and was wondering if any of y'all have heard of it or tried it? I've read that it is one of the most powerful antitoxidents out there. I also have been getting e-mails about how it can be used as an internal flush and how Oprah Winfrey highly reccomends it. I would never do the internal flush (or whatever it's called) but I did purchase a bottle of Acai Berry pills from WalMart for about 8 dollars. I take two a day and to be honest, I don't really feel any different. I read somewhere that it really is expensive to purchase it so am wondering why it was so cheap at WalMart unless it really isn't the "real" thing. Does anybody have any experience or knowledge about this berry??

Personally, I don't like the stuff. I can not stand the juice - which isn't super cheap, but I wouldn't call it expensive either. I stick to Pomegranate juice.

If you don't like juice that is really tart, don't try it. I love Pomegrnate juice and Cranberry, but Acai is much more tart. Typically Acai is blended with other juices like Acerola or Blueberry. Plus Acai has an odd texture to it.

I haven't tried them, but I have heard a bit about them. While I am certain that they have some health benefits, I suspect that a well-balanced diet (with a high fiber content for that "internal flush") offers a greater health benefit-- and at a lower price tag.
