Well I have to say that I am actually quite impressed...I just finished watching it with my daughter (who absolutely LOVED IT) and even though i really hated the way it was filmed....I think filming it that way actually gave the movie more intensity...All in all I think it was pretty damn good...I also like the fact that there is talk or rather has been about there being a Cloverfield 2 BUT rather than it be a "sequel" it may be that same 7-8 hour experience as seen through another point of view......
Anyone else see it? What did you think? Were you plesantly surprised with the film like I was??

I like horror movies and meant to see that when it was in the theatre. I will definitely see it whenever I get a chance. the movie got pretty good reviews and I enjoy a movie that is scary without being overwhelming. I also want to see the mist and I think that is on my netflix queue. I;m going to check and see.

the mist was fairly good actually...not as good as I'd hoped but worthy of watching if you've not seen it...

did you know that the name of the movie 'Cloverfield' is named like that because everytime there is an explosion and vegetation is destroyed, the first thing to appear on the ground is a clover???

Actually the bad robot offices were located on Cloverfield Avenue in Santa Monica.

LOL for once we don't like the same movie! How weird is that?! LOL
I didn't like this movie at all. I thought it was overrated. And like you I hated the way it was filmed. I blame the Blair Witch Project for that LOL. I'm not big on Godizilla movies and that's what it reminded me of.

Oh MAN!!! That movie is going down as one of my all time FAVS!!! I can't say there was anything I didn't like, BUT yeah the way it was filmed kind of got on my nerves at times, but I watch a lot of home movies me and hubby film, so I am use to it, LOL.
I love, LOVE the ending! Happy feel good movies are OK from time to time, but when you have something this horrible that is supposedly going on, what are the chances it ends on a happy note? I was just tickled to see the writers stuck to a realistic ending for this crazy story.

I kind of liked it. It was not my fave, but it was not too bad. Kind of drew me in because of the way it was filmed and it felt like it was really happening.

It really is a clever film. Did you see the satellite fall at the end? In case you were wondering, that is what caused the monster to wake up. All last year I was playing a "game" with thousands of other people and the movie producers. Each day until the movie came out there was a secret revealed on the internet for us. Eventually, I had figured out some of the plot of the movie. It was really fun.

Cloverfield? Isn't this a scarey movie? I thought it was when I seen the previews, my nephew wanted to see it, but I didn't know if I should let him, he's 11. He told me he watched scarey movies all the time..lol. I was just wondering..

I really enjoyed this movie a lot more than I thought I was going to. The shaking camera annoyed me a little bit at first and started to make me sick but I got used to it after awhile. It would be neat if they made a Cloverfield 2.

I totally love this movie. I saw it twice in theaters. I think I would rather that a sequel be a further explanation of where the creature came from and what happened after the end of the first movie, but whatever they decide to do I'm sure I'll be rushing to the theater to see it.
